A well run hostel by a “hands on” owner who has put a lot of care in creating and managing the place. Both the owner and his staff were all very friendly and interested in chatting with their guests. The owner actually works the day shift (at least the days I was there) so he was very present to ensure a good stay. There was also staff there 24 hours a day. Chillout Hostel had two common areas. One area was in front of the building (but fenced in and behind the secured entrance gate) and was a nice place to enjoy breakfast or coffee. The second area was in the back of the building (and also enclosed). There were also seven guest rooms, a combination of dorms and private rooms. The social scene was nice, but certainly not a “party hostel.” The common areas (particularly the back common area) and kitchen were closed off at 22:00 to ensure a quiet night. They reopened at 7:00 the next morning. I found the neighborhood to be safe, certainly safer than other parts of San Jose. There were restaurants and grocery stores with a few blocks of the hostel. The hostel was a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the city center.

Ester`s Place in Escazù. provides accommodation with, a garden and a terrace. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Ester was so welcoming and the hospitality was amazingly good. I will be booking with her again on my future trips to Costa Rica.

Hostel Casa Ridgway offers accommodation in San José. Free parking is available on site. The rooms are equipped with a shared bathroom equipped with a shower. This is a very cute hostel and the location is perfect. The staff was really nice. I can recommend it!

Gaudys Hotel is located 8 minutes’ walk from La Sabana Metropolitan Park and 2 km from San José City Centre. Free WiFi access is available in public areas. Perfect location, closed to the center but still far enough to avoid the mess of the capital

산호세에 자리한 NATIVUS Art-Hostel에서는 컨시어지 서비스, 항알레르기 객실, 공용 라운지, 무료 Wi-Fi, 테라스 등을 제공합니다. 숙소는 포아스 국립공원에서 47km 거리에 있습니다. Ana was very helpful and friendly. The room was almost empty so I really enjoyed a quiet night to rest of my travels. They have a space for sport and yoga mat, very good included breakfast. And everything was claen. I really liked the place.

In the Wind Hostel and Guesthouse is set in the heart of lively, upscale San Pedro and only 400 meters from the University of Costa Rica and the student nightlife of Calle de la Amargura. Appreciated the cleanliness, quietness and the huge well made pancake for breakfast made by a very nice cook.
