Sturdys Castle is a 400 year old coaching inn that boasts a bar, restaurant, and free parking.

Sturdy's Castles hotel is situated in a separate building behind the main pub. The accommodation is split over two levels, unfortunately there is not a lift to the second floor.

I liked that the room was very airy with nice pillows. All the staff were really great: very friendly and professional. As tourists coming from downunder, we found such comfort in the warmth they exuded to us. OMG! Breakfast was just AMAZING! We stayed in the Cotswold and Oxfordshire for 2 weeks and some were even more expensive, but overall, Sturdy’s Castle tops them all! You should raise your fees a bit more😉🥰

The property was great. It was comfortable & spacious for 4 adults. We really liked the fact that there are 2 bathrooms & free parking. It’s well organised, modern, clean & warm.

Clean & spacious rooms, separate from the bar/restaurant so easy access for late return (be prepared for it to feel more like a motel than a hotel, and slightly soul-less). Very pleasant and airy breakfast room/restaurant. Location is middle of nowhere, you definitely need a car.

Comfy bed, handy location, easy to access and parking was fine on the drive or on the road if the drive was full. Plenty of communication beforehand on how to access with a code for the door lock.

lovely big room and bathroom. Very modern separate from the main pub and main roads. The restaurant is delightful, contemporarily decorated with nods to nearby Blenheim. the drinks were reasonable: 1 1/2 pints and a double rum and coke for £12.80 and the portion sizes generous: not those arty spoonfuls that are gone in one mouthful. wonderfully friendly staff. And how about this novelty: free parking. lots of Gluten free and vegetarian options

I visited the area to see friends and attend a funeral. Sturdys Castle is more of a motel the reception and restaurant are part time but the times are clearly displayed. The food was good basic pub food. The surroundings were clean and well maintained and the staff very helpful and friendly. This is not a boutique luxury hotel but it serves its purpose in giving a good no frills clean accommodation. As a lone older lady I felt safe with the good door lock and recommend as a base to explore the area.
