Conwy Castle

This magnificent castle dominates the landscape around it. With eight chunky towers straight out of a knight’s tale, it’s a stunning sight to behold as you emerge from the walking route on the coast from Llandudno. If you can still feel your legs after the trek, wander the battlements to get the full picture of this medieval gem.

Only take 60-90 minutes to see it all but it's so worth it! There are very informative signs to explain the different parts of the castle which is in amazing condition considering it was built in the thirteenth century!

Seniors and military/veterans can get a discount on the admission. There's a steep walk up to the castle and a lot of narrow spiral stairs if you want to go up into the towers. To me it was worth the effort, but my boyfriend avoided some of them. Helpful signage gives the castle's history and explains how each area was used over the centuries.

The location was great, rooms were beautiful, and the view was spectacular. The service was great throughout. The restaurant was exquisite, serving high end dishes. The hotel had everything to meet your needs, from a coffee shop, bar, and restaurant. It's a great place to stay for the Conwy Castle.

Leerick Cottage is well equipped and stylishly furnished, we appreciated the little extras like tea/coffee and toiletries. Amazing view of Conwy Castle, just a few minutes from Llandudno (we enjoyed the cable car ride to Great Orme and walks on the pier), and well located for day trips to Anglesey and the Snowdonia National Park. Pub next door has good food, and Co-op Supermarket close by.

The outside of the hotel is gorgeous! It really stands out among the buildings lining High Street! The room was beautifully decorated and also a very nice headboard. We enjoyed their breakfast two mornings, also. We went to the Conwy Castle & Bodnant Gardens - both excellent!

Excellent room size with a view of Conwy Castle. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The cooked breakfast choices were very good with a varied selection. I would have liked some fruit salad for breakfast in preference to single items of fruit, though. We ate dinner in the restaurant for 2 out of the 3 nights. The food was superb with good choices, catering for all requirements.
