Featuring 3-star accommodation, Oyado Kinkiyu Annex SUIKAZURA is situated in Teshikaga, 11 km from Lake Kussharo and 13 km from Lake Mashu. This ryokan provides free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. The accommodation features a hot spring bath, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms.

Plenty of free parking. The socializing room with free drinks and free snacks is very nice. The Onsen is also much appreciated. There was even an easy to use printer to allow me to easily handle some business.

Hotel Masyu features a public natural hot spring bath, which is accessible day and night. The hotel offers Japanese-style rooms, a games area and free bicycle use.

Rooms come with tatami (woven-mat) flooring and traditional futon bedding. A safe, a fridge and sleepwear are provided.

Probably the largest room we had throughout our trip in Japan. This was a traditional Japanese style room with tatami mats, a low table and floor seating as well as western-style table and chair. It also has a fridge and an electric kettle. Free bicycle rental was amazing and we used their bikes to explore the shores of lake Kussharo. Staff are excellent and speak English very well. The hotel also has a public onsen that is open 24 h (you get a yukata, slippers, and towels in your room), a small souvenir shop, some games etc. Overall may appear a bit outdated, but the level of comfort is high. You can also order breakfast. Walking distance to the JR Mashu Station (about 1 km) with connections to Kushiro. Public transportation here is somewhat limited, but we managed: bus/train to Kawayu Onsen to see Mt. Io, bus to Lake Mashu 1st observatory + hike to Mt. Mashu, then return by hitchhiking, Wakoto Peninsula and Kotan Onsen by bike.

Great location. Great food. Dinner over three nights was different. Washing machine 100yen was so helpful after a day’s hike.

The fact that nothing changed especially the onsen! It was great and enjoyable to have an outdoor onsen personal one whilst it was snowing. Host allowed slightly early check in( due to snow) and there was some wild deer that was eating grass at the doorstep of the hotel which greeted us!

The Onsen was excellent, we were in a ground floor room with simple futon on the floor easy to throw back to give you a bit of extra space when not sleeping. Complementary breakfast was very good. Property is well positioned for JR Rail and drives to the Lakes and there walks.

Wonderful 3 night stay in this beautiful area. Akan Mashu National Park is fabulous. Facility older, futon beds, inside and outside onsen and the most delicious food. Staff very attentive and eager to please. Our favourite place of 6 in Japan.

Very decent budget choice. Rooms are basic but we had a good nigh of sleep. Dinner and breakfast were tasty. Also, there are two hot spring baths, gender separated. On top, there is also a mixed gender outside onsen, which was particularly nice at night. All in all, given the low price this was a really good place to stay for a night!

The room is just like an art museum. The room is spacious and decorated with lots of art pieces. There is a private bathroom and outdoor onsen for each room. We was able to do stargazing while enjoying onsen. The staff is very nice and easy to communicate. The futon is very soft and comfortable. We did enjoy a wonderful sleep.
