We absolutely loved this hotel. The room was beautifully decorated, the private balcony and onsen in our room was fabulous. It’s in an excellent location with lots of restaurants and shopping close by. The staff were wonderful and we felt so comfortable during our stay of 4 nights.

If anything I’d like to suggest is the mini bar that was complimentary for our room. Perhaps change the wine selection.. Rose’ wouldn’t be most people’s 1st choice. And the champagne was not fabulous either.. But that was the only criticism we would have on this hotel.

From the moment we walked in, the service by the staff was friendly and accommodating. The property has a luxurious feeling with elegant touches. We really enjoyed the private bath in the room and the free amenities such as the drinks in the fridge and ice cream on the 9th floor was a nice touch. Drinks on the rooftop terrace was relaxing and the perfect way to end a busy day. Hoping to utilize the public baths if we come again.

Not a thing. It was close to perfect in every way - and at a wonderful price point.

The room itself was amazing - we had no idea there wre other people near us. The hot spring on the balcony was an absolute joy - to bask in the tub watching folks walk around was relaxing and priceless. The location is near perfect - so easy to get anywhere. This is a go to place. Wait no, please stay away so I can book a room next time :-)

Better command of English for some metres of the staff would be very helpful.

The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic, tucked close to the bank of Kama river with main entrance on the busy shopping avenue and a side entrance leading on a narrow alley leading to the river and old part of Kyoto. Our room had a nice balcony and a marble SPA filled with thermal water which was great for relaxation after a full day of wandering around Kyoto.

Everything! It had more stuff than we even expected. I would come back to Kyoto just for this place! It was so relaxing that I want to come back. This is now my favourite accommodation I've ever stayed at.

Noting not to like, everything was so nice. The balcony was so beautiful, everything have exceeded our expectation. We has a great time. guys you should book the room with the private Onsen, remember this will make your stay more even nice and relaxing. I highly recommend to try the in room massage service, they are professional and I had the best experience ever.

I liked everything in the hotel, and the facts that the hotel provide best ice cream ever for free. the people were very friendly and accommodating out needs. The hotel is in a single word it is beautiful. We are definitely coming next year but it is going to be during March time so we could catch the cherri blossom.

We didn't really have any complaints. Only minor comment was that the room felt a bit small for amount paid, but that was also expected of general hotel room sizing in Japan.

Hotel was close to the station, easy to drop off baggage before checkin, checkin was very smooth, we appreciated the tour of amenities. My husband and I used the private onsen at least 5 or 6 times during our 2 night stay, it was perfect for relaxing from the hours of walking during the day. Overall I don't have any complaints and loved our stay. The rooftop lounge and welcome drink are a very nice perk as well. The price was not cheap but that was expected from a private onsen hotel.

Incredible location, comfortable beds and absolutely beautiful room and amenities. We had a room with a private onsen and balcony- it made our stay very luxurious. The rooftop door bath was appreciated in the mornings while we drank our coffee and during happy hour after a day of sightseeing. The hotel service was exceptional- everyone went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend!!

Can’t really think of anything to complain about.

The whole hotel feels very modern. The room was beautiful and much better than the pictures on the site indicate. Everything is immaculately clean and well catered for. The beds are very comfortable. The public baths are extremely large and well laid out. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The delicious Japanese breakfast is like a work of art. Roof terrace bar with foot bath, what’s not to love.

We had a great stay at Sora Niwa hotel! The hot tub was fantastic, the staff extremely friendly, I was really excited to find the great hair styler in the room. The roof top bar view was really nice!

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. We booked private onsen rooms. They are spacious and clean. Japanese style breakfast was excellent and free mini bar was a bonus. The hotel is very close to shopping areas, restaurants and public transport. Staffs are really helpful and polite. We’ll come back if visiting Kyoto again!

Close to Gion district and many good restaurants. Try the wagyu grill Julia restaurant nearby. The rooms are lovely and especially the private onsens. Hands down best breakfast I had in Japan. Very friendly and helpful staff. Much better than advertised.

It’s only minor. It was not a big issue. However, There was no view from our private onsen because our room is located on the ground floor.

Everything. From the moment you stepped into their reception which is on the 9th floor. The view from there was immaculate with Kyoto city, temples and shrines. The best part of it was the private Yunohana onsen right behind your bettei room. Immersed yourself in private onsen all to yourself every day at the end of the night prior to retire to bed. Or a little dip in early in the morning before starting your day - AMAZING!! My husband and I chose to stay in Bettei which is separate from others. Very quiet and has your own private back door to nostalgic alley of ‘Gion’ vibes. If that’s not enough, wait till you get to their rooftop bar and foot hot spring. They have gas heater too on the rooftop in case you’re cold. Besides all that, make sure you choose to have in house Japanese breakfast - Kaiseki. If you can’t afford to pay for a private onsen in your stay. No problem they have public one too except you have to respect their rules and Onsen etiquette. Moreover, the hotel actually refilled your snacks and drinks even though my husband and I hardly drink alcohol.

Very peaceful and quiet vibe, right in the heart of Kyoto. The guest room, private onsen, and public onsen are all completely lovely. The chef makes an extraordinary Japanese breakfast of fish and vegetables, and they made a very special effort to accommodate my needs as a vegetarian. Staff are kind and helpful. The laundry facilities work well. My mother and I stayed here together and loved every minute. Be sure to check out the health food store and cafe in the hotel across the street.
