The shower area could have been a little cleaner, but everything else in the guesthouse was very clean.

It felt like a traditional Japanese home. I enjoyed the experience of staying in a very unique place. The staff were very nice and will always give us recommendations and answer questions.

The showers are a bit cramped and grimy and there isn't a great place to store suitcases

It's incredibly good value for money and in a central Onomichi location! The beds are fairly nice and there's a nice communal area at the front

The shower rooms need renovation, at least change the mouldy courtains.

Cute and cozy shared space. Comfortable beds.

The shower could have been (much) cleaner. There was mold on the walls, dirty carpet on the floor. Pity!

    Beautiful old house, friendly staff.

The showers were not very clean, but the water pressure was good and it was easy to overlook. Also, the sheets were uncomfortable/scratchy, but for a night or two, this was easy to overlook.

I loved the ambiance and decor. The whole building was so cute and quirky and homey. I absolutely loved this hostel and was sad that I only spent one night.

The beds were a bit thin. It's fine for a couple of nights.

The guesthouse is beautiful and well situated in the middle of the main shopping street. It's close to the temple walk, the ferries and the JR Station. The staff was really helpful and nice. We stayed in one of the two double rooms upstairs. It's roomy and the small veranda over the garden was a very nice touch. The walls are thin but the other guests were mostly respectfful. The showers are great, and we had no issue with the shared bathrooms/shower. The guesthouse can handle your luggage delivery if you want to do the Shimanami Kaido (we had ours delivered to Imabari: we dropped them off at 7:30AM and got them back at 6PM in Imabari. It cost 2200JPY per luggage).

The bed is a futon so it's a bit hard when you try to sleep on the side. On the back it's fine.

Nice guest house in an old Japanese house with a kotatsu in colder months. The staff was helpful and friendly. It's my second stay. I enjoyed it a lot.

There was a bit of mold in the shower rooms. Also the place does not have proper sinks to brush teeth/wash the face. You have to use the (very) small sinks in the toilets which is a bit inconvenient as water spills everywhere.

The cafe and the accommodation have a unique design and vibe. The tatami room we stayed in was super spacious with view into a Japanese garden. Optional breakfast costs 400¥ and is more than enough, though their western style option was not available at the time of our stay.

They said in the automatic message that the café opens at 8am and it is possible to drop the luggage, but actually at that time there was nobody, I had to call. Anyway the girl arrived quickly and everything was fine. Very narrow hallway to reach the dormitory. Kithchen doesn't have a space to dry things, you must dry them by hand after use.

Comfortable beds with very warm blanket for winter. Space inside the bed cabin where to hang your clothes. Equipped kitchen. Nice common space area where to have breakfast and meet other travelers. Friendly staff.

Well located down a cute alley on a main shopping street. Homely decor makes it feel really cosy.

Nothing really. The stairs are steep leading up to the rooms so I would leave any big suitcases in a locker before coming here.

Great location in the main arcade of Onomichi. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. An Japanese-style tatami room that overlooked the small courtyard. Shared kitchen and bathrooms are clean and organised.
