Located in Randsverk in the Oppland Region, 46 km from Gålå, Lemonsjø Fjellstue og Hyttegrend features a terrace and views of the mountain. What didn't we like? Everything was great. From the staff to food and location. It feels so homely and calm. The view from our room was directing the lake and we could just sit hours on end, enjoying the view. The lady at the check-in/out was just delightful; very helpful (helped us plan our next day's trip toward fjords), open and super funny. :) We would love to stay longer and explore the surroundings.

This former farm is in picturesque Lom, close to Jotunheim National Park. It offers traditional Norwegian food, Galdhøpiggen Mountain views and excellent hiking opportunities. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Nice and cozy room, and really cool Norwegian bathtub.

Turtagrø Hotel has traditions dating back to the 1880s. This hotel is located 884 meters above sea level, at the foot of Vest-Jotunheimen. This is a fantastic location with some of the more interesting hiking and climbing routes in Norway, near the Jotunheimen Nasjonalpark. We choose the accomodation in the "Swiss chalet" and this allow us to save a lot of money :-) without losing the magnificence of the place and additional services provided by the hotel like for example the very good dinner (one of the best we have in Norway). The Chalet is really beautiful and extremely functional. Clean and full of services, like the shower and the drying room.

Overlooking Lake Øvre Sjodalsvatnet, Bessheim Fjellstue offers an in-house restaurant and accommodation with mountain views and private bathrooms. The Gjende Boat departs 5.5 km away. We recently stayed two nights here and had a fantastic experience. The staff are all highly friendly, courteous, and hospitable. Initially, we could not make it all the way to the hotel in our car as the road leading to the hotel was closed due to severe rainstorms in the days leading up to our stay. Nonetheless, the hotel sent out staff members to meet us at a pick up point and drive us to the hotel. They also had staff drive us to the ferry in Gjendesheim to catch the first morning ferry to Besseggen. We absolutely would not have made it to our incredible hike at Besseggen if they were not willing to be so accommodating to us. They even had staff drive us back to our car once our stay was over! The dinner at the hotel was wonderful, and my friend and I especially loved their selection of local beers and aquavit. All in all, if you are hiking Besseggen or embarking on other adventures in Jotunheimen National Park, I could not recommend Bessheim Fjellstue og Hytter highly enough!

Overlooking the Sognefjord, this hotel in central Skjolden offers an in-house restaurant, free parking and rooms with free WiFi access. The 12th-century Urnes Stave Church is 30 km away. The Skjolden Hotel was the high point of my trip. I was passing through the area and stayed for three nights. I was immediately captivated by the view of the fjord, then stayed for the excellent food from the kitchen and the lovely staff. if I had the time I would have stayed for a week.

This family-owned mountain lodge is set in the Bøverdal Valley, 25 km from Jotunheimen National Park. It offers an in-house restaurant, private art gallery and individually decorated rooms. This hotel is the best hotel I've ever stayed.

Set in a late 1800s wooden building, this countryside hotel is in Hindseter, 60 km from Otta. The hotel restaurant serves Nordic cuisine with local produce. The hotel is stunningly situated. The suites at the hotel are beautiful with lots of local and historical details. The lounge area with large windows facing the valley is great for chilling out with a local beer in the evening. We only had a short stay but we’re spoilt for choice on the number of hikes from the hotel- they were all well sign posted and we got good advice from reception. Breakfast was in the lovely historic dining room and used local produce. The whole place is very friendly and full of character. Can’t wait to go back!

Housed in a building from 1897 in Lom, the historic Fossheim Hotel Lom offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with private bathrooms and cable TV. Lom Stave Church is 100 metres away. The town is very cute. The room is better than expected. I like the traditional and authentic atmosphere so much. I enjoy the time staying here.

Nestled in the town of Lom between the Jotunheimen and Reinheimen National Parks, Nordal Turistsenter is built in a traditional rustic style with light and modern interiors. Beautiful view, excellent food, very nice stuff
