מקום האירוח La Vista Kusatsu Hills נמצא בקוסאטסו, במרחק של 47 ק''מ מפארק הקופים ג'יגוקודאני, ומציע גינה, חניה פרטית בחינם, טרקלין משותף וטרסה. 100% best part of my stay was the view. very beautiful, even while relaxing in the onsen. room itself was comfortable and larger than expected. public hotel facilities were nice but limited (just the one top floor with a cafeteria/lounge and onsen). along with the public onsen there are four private onsen (no reservation required; you can just walk in and lock the door behind you). everything is clean and tidy. free food and snacks cycled in and out at the lounge. staff were very welcoming and accomodating. lovely food. i stayed two days in a row so was worried i might get the same menu, but the dinner menu was changed and i was provided an extra breakfast plate for my second breakfast to go with the standard buffet :) i read that it's not walkable, but the walk was rather nice, about ~8 minutes uphill walk from the bus terminal even with snow on the road. there is also a regular shuttle going both to the bus terminal and yubatake.

The staff were so helpful, friendly and accommodating. From picking us up at the bus Shima Onsen bus station to organising us vegetarian options for breakfast and dinner. The facilities are incredible. Very stylish. The hotel itself is a work of art, the decor was beautiful. The spa or onsen facilities were beautiful and clean. The hotel wasn’t very busy while we were there so each time I used the onsen, I was alone. My partner too. I found the location ideal as it’s a short 12 min walk down to the Main Street with all the p and cafes and a brisk 15 minute up to the bottom of the dam. The food was delicious. The room very spacious and comfortable. We had the corner room on the second floor which was like being in the forest. The room had desks for remote working and a private bath. If I ever go to Shima again, I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Thank you Yuto and everyone. Arigato guzaimas.

The bed was surprisingly comfortable too! We will definitely stay here again if we are around the area, highly recommended! :)
