Set in Kelso, 41 km from The Maltings Theatre & Cinema, SCHLOSS Roxburghe, part of Destination by Hyatt offers accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. This was our biggest surprise of the trip and our favorite. The rooms were large, beds comfortable, best warm shower, amazing views from our room, gorgeous location and the staff were all great people. The largest breakfast selection, everything was fresh and good, and the restaurant staff was very helpful.

Set in Ettrickbridge End, 22 km from Melrose Abbey, Cross Keys Inn Ettrickbridge offers accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. This was a favorite stay on our trip. We stayed at many different places during our trip, but my kids liked this place the best. The staff was super friendly, the food was awesome, and the area was so quiet and quaint. There isn't a lot in the town, so if you are looking for shopping this may not be the place for you. We woke up and went for a long walk, the locals were very friendly and helped us find a good route. The inn was comfortable and clean. The restaurant was a surprise, we assumed basic pub food, which was not the case. It was fresh and delicious.

Set in Earlston, Red Lion, Coorie Inn offers 3-star accommodation with a bar. The hotel offers both free WiFi and free private parking. Great welcome from Susie and Curt. Full breakfast upgrade as well as the steak dinner and roast beef dinner were very well prepared by Curt. All can be recommended. Also great thnks to Tony Wood of Well Fed a few doors along who took care of the breakfast while Susie, Curt, their kid Rosie an Lowie and the dog Hugo started their holidays. A great place to stay if you want to discover the Borders. To be fully recommended.

Located in Yarrow, The Gordon Arms Restaurant with Rooms features a garden, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can use the hot tub, or enjoy mountain views. The new owners took an excellent inn and have transformed it into an excellent restaurant with rooms. The food is very good without being unnecessarily elaborate. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel like you belong there.

Around 25 miles from central Edinburgh, Black Bull enjoys a prominent location in the pretty Scottish Borders town of Lauder. Decor was extremely tasteful, very comfortable, food was lovely, staff lovely

In the centre of Melrose, The Townhouse Hotel is a 2-minute walk from Melrose Abbey and less than 3 miles from Sir Walter Scott’s former home, Abbotsford. Beautiful bedroom - spacious, light and comfortable. Very good menu for dinner and breakfast - enjoyed the food. Friendly and helpful staff both front of house and in dining room.

With a town centre location on Market Square, Burt’s Hotel in Melrose offers individually styled rooms with free parking and Wi-Fi, along with an AA Rosette-winning restaurant. Very friendly staff, excellent food, great location!

Set amid the stunning Cheviot Hills, Chirnside Hall Hotel is a rural retreat just 15 minutes’ drive from Berwick-upon-Tweed in the Scottish Borders. What wasn’t there to like. Location, building, staff, food, comfort, cleanliness, ambiance.. all perfect.

Dating from the 18th-century, the Allanton is charming coaching inn located in Berwickshire. Nice pub in a quiet little village. Good selection of breakfast options. Nice to be woken up by sparrows and starlings chirping in the yard.

Set 39 km from Thirlwall Castle, The Grapes Hotel offers 3-star accommodation in Newcastleton and has a terrace, a restaurant and a bar. Good location on Main Street, lovely wee pub on ground floor and dinner was tasty. We were a group of cyclists and they accommodated our later arrival very well.
