If the weather is good and the seas are calm - take a small...
If the weather is good and the seas are calm - take a small boat tour out to the Penninsula. This was a stand out highlight of our trip - we saw lots of Killer Whales and also some dolphins and bears - as well as beautiful waterfalls and scenery. Take the road over the Shiretoko pass too and dont' forget to visit the visitor centre (Shiretoko nature centre) on the way over the pass or to the five lakes (goko) for awesome (real) coffee and an amazing film on a huge screen of the 4 seasons of Shiretoko!

The location is perfect with amazing viewing spots for sunrise and sunset less than a 10min walk away. It’s always nice and warm so if you’re there in winter it’s great to pop back and defrost after exploring. The smells from the café walking in are absolutely delicious and the food is wholesome and tasty. It’s a fantastic base for exploring Shiretoko National park, I’ll absolutely be coming back to see this magical place in every season!

Given a lot of Japanese accommodation can be quite cramped for space, this was a palace! Assuming you have a car, the location is away from the crowds but close enough to town to be convenient, and very handy to the Shiretoko National Park.

There was an exceptional buffet breakfast which helped fuel us for hiking at Shiretoko National Park. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and used translation apps where there were any English language gaps. The onsen area was very big and relaxing. The area around the hotel made for a lovely evening stroll, and it was also a walk to the main strip and beaches.

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding buffets in both quality and variety. Our room was large and very comfortable with a beautiful view over the harbor and the Sea of Okhotsk. We highly recommend this hotel.JonathanJapan
