We had a really good time at Sky Tower. The room is spacious and full of little extras to discover. We were surprised to find that the balcony AND the bathroom are equipped with a large whirlpool. The view from our room was amazing. We ordered the western breakfast, which was delivered to our room, and it was really good, too. All the extras in the room and in the building made the impression that someone invisible is trying to make us feel good. This is a love hotel, but you don't get locked into your room as it seems to be custom with love hotels in Japan. You are free to come and go as you please. There is a checkout machine in the room for when you leave.

My wife and I stayed here for one night. We initially booked it for the novelty factor (if you’re not aware, this is a “love hotel” and worth googling if you’re not familiar!) however we were pleasantly surprised by the standard of the stay. The rooms are very big and you can order room service - things that we haven’t found in other, more expensive hotels in Japan. The room was pristine with a sea view, welcome drinks in the minibar and good service (despite you never seeing anyone in person as everything is done via phone or through a hatch!) In terms of location, it’s in a part of town where there are many other love hotels which is quite surreal to a westerner, and the hotel is in walking distance to everything you might need. That said, we didn’t love Beppu itself. All in all, a fun experience and great value for money.

Great experience of a Japanese love hotel (we only booked because it was the best choice for our travel itinerary). Big TV, outdoor jacuzzi and wonderful view! Staff was very helpful even though we didn't understand everything immediately (like how to order room service).

It is a fantastic space. As big as the average Tokyo apartment. The outdoor shower and hot tub was unusual but a great experience. Included breakfast, delivered anonymously, was pretty good and the free drinks much appreciated. Check in was easy thanks to the fantastic staff.
