This family run place is located in a guarded gate community. Its location is close to the city center and a newly and pleasant developed shopping center. The room is clean and the bed is firm. We were impressed that the gentleman took us to the airport around 1:40am as promised very prompt.

Offering a terrace and views of the garden, Rio Celeste Backpackers is situated in Bijagua, 42 km from Liberia. Super sweet couple that invites you in the guest area of their own house. It is a tranquil place with 2 people taking super good care, making you comfortable and helping you with anything you like to ask but with a relaxt, leaving you to do your thing vibe. The breakfast that is included is the best! Was sad to leave, it is such a nice rural region of Costa Rica, with Rio Celeste entrance within 20 mins drive. Recommended! Night tour was nice and interesting as well!

The place is nice and clean. The atmosphere is quiet, 10 minutes walking from the center. The owner is really nice and welcome!

Set in Ángeles, 18 km from La Fortuna Waterfall, Cabañas San Isidro offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and barbecue facilities. Great place for families with kids. We even got invited to the dinner with Juan - the owner of the property, and his wonderful wife and friends. Plus we also got a free excursion in the sorrounding garden where Juan grows mangos, avocados, blackberries and meny other fruits. Absolutely recommend.

Situated within 32 km of Poas National Park and 3.1 km of Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium, Toucan Hostel features rooms in Alajuela City. Perfect place if you need to stay close to the airport. It's a 10 minute walk from the terminal so you can even save on taxi. The room was super clean (4-bed dorm), albeit no window but the ventilation was great. Very clean and finally a hot shower after showering in cold water for 5 weeks in Costa Rica. There is a small kitchen where you can prep your own food or get their breakfast for $5. Helpful staff, good internet. Would recommend.

Situated in Fortuna and with La Fortuna Waterfall reachable within 5.6 km, Pura Vibra Hostel features concierge services, rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared lounge. One of the best hostels I've stayed in Centroamérica. Not only do dorms have a bathroom but also every bed has curtains, lights, a little fan and a socket! Ana is always willing to help and give you good advice about places and how to get there. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and the common area has games and a ping-pong table, apart from some cute little lizards strolling around the garden. Great hostel!

Arenal Sloth Hostel is set in Fortuna, within 5 km of La Fortuna Waterfall and 5.4 km of Kalambu Hot Springs. My stay at arenal sloth hostel was amazing! The staff were super friendly, helpful and kind. Jemina is a wonderful person, and does an excellent job. The vibe is super social and I made so many friends here. We shared meals, drinks and so many conversations. The kitchen is super clean and has everything you need. The bed in the dorm was comfy. The whole place was consistently very clean. It's a 10 min walk to town and a 20 min walk to El Salto.
