Located 34 km from Chuson-ji Temple, ゲストハウス蘖 -ひこばえ provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The holiday flat is quite close to the Sakura spot of Tenshochi Park and the Michinoku folk museum. The flat is located at the riverside with a lovely view and is decorated prettily. The owner is nice. She showed us some beautiful places when we arrived and drove us to the station when we had to leave.

Hiraizumi was the very first place where my husband and I reached, once in Japan: there, directly from Narita airport. We wanted to visit a "real" place, non for tourists, rural, and so it was. Even though it's not very famous in the West, in Hiraizumi there are very important Buddhist temples, Chuson-ji in particular and also Motsu-ji. In addition to being close to the station, the Suzuki family home allows you to reach every point of historical and cultural interest, as well as the thermal baths (onsen), in a short time on foot. Mr. Suzuki are excellent hosts, very kind and patient with foreigners. The language barrier (they do NOT speak English) was overcome in a fun way that allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the country we were in. Hiraizumi will be missed. Hiraizumi è stata la cittadina del nostro primo impatto con il Giappone: siamo andati subito lì, direttamente dall'aeroporto di Tokyo Narita. Volevamo vedere un posto "vero", rurale, non turistico, e così è stato. Anche se poco conosciuti in occidente, a Hiraizumi ci sono complessi di templi buddhisti molto importanti, Chuson-ji in particolare e anche Motsu-ji. Oltre a essere vicina alla stazione, la casa dei signori Suzuki permette di raggiungere a piedi e in poco tempo ogni punto di interesse storico e culturale, nonché le terme (onsen). I signori Suzuki sono ospiti eccellenti, gentilissimi e pazienti con gli stranieri. La barriera linguistica (i signori NON parlano inglese) è stata superata in un modo divertente e che ci ha permesso di immergerci completamente nel Paese in cui eravamo. Located just 2.3 km from Morioka Station, Buchoho No Yado Morioka features accommodation in Morioka with access to free bikes, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Great staying in a Japanese house. It was self check in and instructions given before arrival sufficed. Having use of a bike made going round town a lot easier.

タカマス民宿 is located in Ōtsuchi, 10 km from Kamaishi Recovery Memorial Stadium, 18 km from Kamaishi Station, and 41 km from Iwate Prefectural Fishery Science Museum. I stayed longer than I intended. The little town radiates peacefullness. And so does this guesthouse. I felt so comfortable and respected here. I was so perfectly treated I just wanted to stay longer. I actually did. And I want to go back. Live at the end of the world again, feel that small measure of peace again.
