Nice room, comfy japanese-style beds, everything was spotless. Kitchen available. Restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Onsen nearby, too. Lovely garden/common space with bonfire. But the very best point was the owner, a supernice guy who gave us a lot of useful suggestions. It was lovely to chat with him over a glass of shochu! Super recommended

Situated in Minami Aso, 17 km from Naka-dake, Wakka provides a garden. The property is located 19 km from Aso Farm Land. Guests can enjoy mountain views. The home made breakfast taste so good, in Japanese-western style, with homemade jam and honey. The room is clean and comfortable, all equipment are very new and tidy. There is basic kitchen equipment, microwave and small oven which can do some easy cooking. Love the wooden bathroom and toilet, the pleasant natural smell. The room is right facing Mt. Aso. The scenery inside and outside the room is amazing, like a picture. The owners are very nice and helpful.

Situated in Kumamoto, an 40-minute walk from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, Hiroshimaya provides air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi. Thank you very much to the hotel owner for their warm hospitality! I traveled by bike in Japan for 3 months and booked 70 hotels in advance. I couldn't help staying here for an extra night. Although it was worth wasting the expenses of the last three hotels to catch up with the itinerary. The open landscape, peaceful temples, traditional architecture, and the warmth of the owner all make people experience the true meaning of "Japan". Next time I have the opportunity, I will stay for one week. Thank you again!

Located within 44 km of Mount Aso and 50 km of Lake Ezu, omusubi guest house (JAPANESE STYLE） features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Mamihara. Owner and her staff were extremely nice and welcoming, we had a great time chatting with them. The whole building has a fun vibe. Close to the towns restaurant options (make sure you go to donut shop).

What a delight to stay at this beautiful Japanese style house with an abundance of amazing paintings by the owner. Spacious, cozy and functional rooms as well as the most kind and welcoming host. We would recommend this place to anybody who wants to have a great Japanese experience that really stands out. We would love to come back some time.
