Facing the beachfront, そらやまゲストハウス Sorayama guesthouse offers 2-star accommodation in Ino and has a shared lounge, garden and terrace. Our best stay during our three week Japan trip in 2024 with 8 people in total (including a toddler and kindergarten aged kid). The hosts are very nice, the breakfast and dinner they provided for us was exceptional, and the view from our room was great, too. They take great care to be ecologically mindful. Everything was very clean. The owners also provided us with valuable info on what to do during our stay in Kochi, so we had a blast exploring the beautiful nature surrounding this guesthouse.

Situated in Shimanto-cho, EkimaehouseSamaru is a recently renovated accommodation, 13 km from Kaiyodo Hobby Museum Shimanto and 24 km from Monjudo Temple. The guesthouse and the neighborhood are amazing. The owner is one of the nicest and warmest people I have met. The bed was even nicer than that of a much more expensive ryokan. The train ride to the guesthouse was scenic, the location of the accommodation is perfect, the eateries nearby are all good. The place itself was spotless with a really nice shower room. Everything was perfect. I can't recommend it enough.

Situated in Konan in the Kochi region, Guesthouse Suisennosato features a garden. Everything!!! The host was a beautiful Gem of a woman who I just connected with, she has a good sense of humor and she honestly goes out of her way to make you feel at home , I highly recommend this place easy! Wifi brilliant, parking on-site, shower awesome, fridge great, bedding awesome, TV great and room was huge !! Air con worked awesome, 💪, and I would go back again easily ! ( And I'm eating more vegetables now 😀)...

Located a 12-minute walk or a 3-minute bus ride from JR Kochi Station north exit, Katsuo Guest House offers Japanese-style dormitory rooms with air conditioning. One of the best hostels I have been to in Japan. The staff were amazing, the place was comfortable and cosy and it had a really nice atmosphere throughout the whole stay. Have to mention that the owners were very helpful with anything I needed and were super friendly.

Located in Mimase and only 30 km from Daizen-ji Temple, guesthouse ONAKA provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace, Washi Studio Kamikoya is located in Yusuhara. the retreat in the mountain coupled with the amazing hospitality by the family made us felt like visiting old friends. the Japanese paper making workshop is highly recommended. you buy your own food in town (owner will tell u where to get the best beef and the location of the supermarket), then you can do bbq or hot pot or whatever you fancy. very authentic experience in the mountains. highly recommended

Guesthouse boro-ya is located in Toyonaga. The property has barbecue facilities, as well as a garden. Guests can enjoy mountain views. At the guest house, each room has a terrace. Everything was amazing. Location is INSANE, in a very rural village overlooking the valley. The owner, Yancy, was super friendly with us and told us his interesting story. He provided everything we need, such as cooking tools and also games and entertainment. We appreciated to have the whole house available for us, for cooking and chilling. The outdoor bathroom is a real experience. I absolutely recommend to try this accommodation.

Located in the mountains surrounded by nature, Guesthouse En is located in Ochi at an elevation od 400 metres. The property features a garden and offers luggage storage space. Takao and Shie’s guesthouse is perfectly equipped for a self-catering stay in a remote rural area about an hour from Kochi city. They are wonderful friendly hosts and the accommodation is lovely. The toilets and bathroom are outside but are very clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for anyone wanting to disconnect from the city vibe and just relax for a few days. Thank you Takao and Shie and good luck for October :-)

Situated within 24 km of Daizen-ji Temple and 24 km of Nishihama Park, Haruno Guesthouse provides rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Tosa. This is a great, affordable place to stop along the shikoku pilgrimage route. I stayed 2 nights. The nights before and after temple 35, walking without a bag for that day was so nice and gave my legs a mild break with plenty of time to do laundry, clean, and reorganize my gear. Since it's so affordable it makes a great place for a rest day. Walking distance to a great grocery store and conbinis.
