Even though the single room was with shared toilet, there was a sink in the room, which was convenient for brushing teeth and washing the face. The shared toilets were clean. For people too shy to use the public bath at the hotel next door, there is a shower room at the first floor next to the washing machines.

This place is for those who want to try a very traditional Ryokan. Futons on tatami matting and a traditional onsen (shared hot tub). There is also a small hot tub in the room. The family have been running it for 13 generations. It is designated museum as they keep it as traditional as is possible. Our room gave onto a delightful Japanese garden just in from the coast and was very tranquil.
This is not for people looking for modern conveniences.
Boasting hot-spring baths with restorative waters from 1500 metres below, Taikyorou is only a 5-minute walk from the famous Amanohashidate Land Bridge.

Great service, very clean room, tasty food. Room was spacious enough for two persons. Amazing view of the turning bridge which I loved!! Located at the centre of Amanohashidate, not too far away from the train station, offer free parking if you are driving. So value for money, we will be back.

Lots of tourists on holidays but pretty peaceful on normal days. The beach was great but I think they limit the days you can swim. Nice stroll along the sandbar. Amanohashidate is the main thing, there's nothing much to do in Ine aside from taking the boat tour. It's probably best to take the tour that starts from Amanohashidate and goes straight to Ine if you want to save time.
The hotel once was a great property, and the views are breath taking! people are kind, but bare that noone speaks English and most of self-service has been implemented as possible such as collect your own amenities upon check in from the ground floor, for example. I love the location of the hotel, just be aware that if you do not have a car DO NOT come under any circumstance as there is no means for transportation, no combini close, no restaurants. So watch carefully your resources.
Breakfast buffet was excellent. So many choices!
We loved the traditional Japanese room that we booked (tatami and futons), plus the sea view. Very relaxing hotel. Staff's English-speaking ability was limited, but we managed. (Most guests are Japanese.) We enjoyed using the hotel bikes to ride around. Very short walk to train station and a short walk to the land bridge and beach as well.
Exceptionally good check-in experience: stepped forward to welcome us, spoke excellent English, handed us a dossier of nearby restaurants which included a map showing the convenience store option too. Room beautiful, very comfy and spacious. Bus stop opposite hotel is an easy ride back to Amanohashidate; hotel gave us timetable for this. (Note: cash only for this bus, not IC card.)
I love this place so much! If you don't mind staying one train station away from Amanohashidate, this is the best place to go (especially if you're with friends/family. The place is clean, beds are so comfy, and you'll have your own kitchen. We were able to cook our own food. Also, the staff are very polite. It was very easy to communicate with the owner, too.
A short and easy walk to the station and attractions. Waterfront location. And that you could use the onsen and take meals at the adjoining sister hotel. The outdoor seafood BBQ dinner with open bar was great value with a great waterfront vibe. Breakfast on the terrace was good as well.
The room, while small, was recently renovated.
Very kind and informative staff. Mr. Tokuda gave us a tour of the museum floor, and even played the traditional flute to acquaint us with Japanese music. He was very kind to tell us about the history of the several locations we planned to visit. He even gave us a ride back to the train station when we checked out.
The staff was extremly kind and helpful, the room was spacious, big fridge, we had a wonderful view over the bay. The onsen was great too. The location of the hotel is perfect. We enjoyed the bicycle road around the bay a lot, same as the walks on the beach and through the pine forrest. Great hotel!
The Onsen was great. The food was sublime. The staff were amazing and spoke English to us. Totally amazing and a huge wow factor when we went down to dine. Amazing totally recommended. They even loaned us extra towels so we could swim nearby. And a fabulous little gift shop.
It was a very cozy hostel with very nice staff which made some amazing food. Additionally perfect location if you come from amanohashidate station i recommend walking the peninsula along the beach to the accommodation. Also very close to bus stop to ine.
The onsen was a good first experience. Quaint and charming. Very earnest owner. Very hospitable staff
Enjoyed the brief tour of the museum. 1 stop Wsy from Amanohashidate which is really convenient. Authentic ryokan experience! Good value for money.
Everything about this hotel was well thought out. I rolled my ankle and they were able to give me some patches to help ease the pain. I think Kitanoya's staff is their best asset.
The location is super , with a great view . The room (requested) is not blocked by the pines and is right on the water. There is a hot spring bath in the hotel.
