The hotel is drop dead gorgeous after what appears to be a comprehensive and well thought out renovation. This hotel is pure class- in a very beautiful and understated way with hospitality at the core- not show off glitz. The pictures do not really do the rooms justice- our room had a soaring ceiling that made us feel like we had stepped back into a grand old mansion. The bar is extraordinary- an original wood carved masterpiece with a lovely bartender the night we were there. We really enjoyed being able to relax in the bar area in the evening with a creatively crafted drink after a long day of Houston traffic and sightseeing. We only wished we would have been able to take in a meal at the restaurant. After a glitch at check in, Mitchell, who was manning reception, went above and beyond to make sure we got the second room we booked. Mitchell exemplified everything about excellence in hospitality we could have hoped for- and reflected the positive spirit of the other team members we encountered.

The breakfast was delicious and home-style cooking. Although there is no restaurant, they have a take out menu and meals can be eaten in the room or at an outside dining area. The room was big, comfortable and had everything we need. I really felt like at home in Gaidos Seaside Inn.
