The Cottage at Villa Indigo, hotel in Charlotte Amalie

The Cottage at Villa Indigo offers accommodations in Charlotte Amalie, 1.6 miles from Charlotte Amalie Harbor.

It was a very nice quiet residential neighborhood on the mountain overlooking Charlotte Amalie. I liked that we had a private casita. Having a harbor view was also a nice bonus. Being able to walk to the local bar/restaurant was a plus as driving was unnerving for us.

Galleon House Hotel, hotel in Charlotte Amalie

On historic Government Hill in the Charlotte Amalie district of Saint Thomas, this bed and breakfast features a freshwater pool with deck.

Great location with fantastic views of the harbor. Some reviews make too much of the steps up to the property. Unless you have a lot of luggage or are in some way disabled, it is no big deal. I'm an out of shape 74 yo and had no problem with them.

The hotel was close to the cruise port.

The hotel was close to the cruise port. It was a bueatiful backdrop. I was there for a short period, I just wanted to go somewhere different and I accomplished my goal. I was there by myself and felt safe. I caught several taxis, when to call a taxis, your taxis has people going other people going in the direction you are, and it’s per person. They’re not a lot of places to park. The streets are very busy.

I love Charlotte Amalie I was born and raised here.

I love Charlotte Amalie I was born and raised here. I relocated to the states years ago. My last visit was in 2018, and some of my family members still reside here. I also stayed in Estate Solberg and the driving was nerve-wrecking up and down those steep small hills. Overall, I enjoyed my stay with family and the food.

The hotel seems like it was once really nice, but it seems dated now. We had to change rooms when we checked in, the floor was stained and the air conditioner was not working. We had to request room service daily, we will not stay here again.

The town is crawling with tourists when the cruise ships are in and much of the shopping has moved to a couple wharf-side shopping malls. There were some nice restaurants. We preferred St. John and St. Croix

    Cajun style seafood was excellent!

Cajun style seafood was excellent! Escargots was a real treat as an appetizer. Had the shrimp and craw fish in bed of rice Seasoned creole style was not too hot and not too mild! Ambiance was appropriate for menu style.

My opinion is you should not travel to the Virgin Islands...

My opinion is you should not travel to the Virgin Islands until they relax the rules on covid. At night, most of the bars, clubs, and restaurants are closed and the ones that are open, they close early. Basically I was walking around looking for something to do. If you're there to just go to the beach, that's fine but the nightlife there is a ghost town now during covid. Also you do not want to go shopping either. They are so desperate to get sales that everybody bombards you with trying to sell you something. Also a tip about buying alcohol, buy the alcohol at Kmart. That's the cheapest place to buy alcohol. Also if this is your first visit to St Thomas, be prepared because the customer service is not the greatest. A lot of the sellers are not very nice and I'm being kind. I'm not saying everyone but a lot have bad attitudes. I'm part St Thomian and I tell you this from experience.

The location of this Hotel is amazing! You are right in the center of downtown Charlotte Amalie. You can easily walk to many restaurants, the ferry, to Blackbeard's Castle and to Bluebeard's Castle. The dining area overlooks the bay. I will stay here again. The hotel is on the side of a hill so their are many stairs. It was no concern to me but it may be to some customers.

A nice large room with a fully stocked kitchenette. Recently remodeled after the hurricane. The view from the pool deck was great, you could see all over Charlotte Amalie Harbor. The taxi drivers that drove us to and from the resort were friendly. The food and drinks at the pool bar were great, and the bar staff was friendly. The landscaping and flowers were well maintained.

The overall experience was exceptional, especially for USVI. As a full time resident, and one that lives on a boat full time, the occasional hotel stay on island is necessary, but as we aren’t on “holiday”, paying respectable prices for resort quality stays is very much appreciated. Castle Villas at Blackbeards will be my first choice every time.

Location! It’s top notch. Right in central downtown Charlotte Amalie, next to the historic Bunker Hill hotel, and close walk to all of the sites to see (like 99 steps and such). and like 3 min walk to Vendor’s Plaza where you can easily catch the public bus or public safaris to other areas on the island. and super nice and helpful staff.

The hotel is very close to the airport, city center, and bars and restaurants; however, you have to take a taxi. The host was fantastic and arranged transportation for us. The owners are friendly, kind, and thoughtful. They will do whatever they can to make your stay easy.

This place is a gem! It is very close to Blackbeard's castle. It is a short walk to downtown Charlotte Amalie so if you don't mind walking, you don't really need a car. The place has everything you need and decent space. Great for a couples getaway!

An atmospheric & quirky hotel, perched high up on the hill, with splendid views over the bay. My room was at the very top of the hotel & was clean and comfortable. Bathroom a little elderly.
