This place is a perfect oceanview oasis! The view was truly breathtaking, I was able to spot the whale's migrations in the evening. The room was spotless and impeccable, the bathroom was so spacious. The bed was so big and comfortable that I had one of my best sleeps ever. The location was ideal for beach access and exploring the area. At night time I saw the Milky Way just from Alina's deck! Thanks Alina for such an unforgettable experience! I can't wait to return here again!

Point Arena is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty with a stunning coastline. The coastal views on the way to the lighthouse should not be missed. However, the town center is rather blighted. The restaurants seem to be only open on the weekends. The historic center is worn down. . . not really any interesting shops or galleries.
You may want to consider staying in Gualala or Anchor Bay instead. Elk has a fantastic art gallery and it's a charming village. . . but, the prices in the local grocery are astronomical.

A trip north along the coast road to Fort Bragg, stopping often and including a stop at Point Arena lighthouse with climb to the top well worth it. Pizzas on the wharf, about 5 minutes away well worth the easy drive. Co-op across the road does excellent coffee - proper espresso coffee!!

Not really a town to stay more than one night unless you are visiting friends in the area. The lighthouse is about the only thing to see that is of interest. A little town that tries to hard to be something it is not.

Loved the Wild Flower Motel, the breakfast was brought to our room and it was delicious. We had fun exploring and seeing Bowling Ball Beach. Great places to eat and just walk around. The weather was wonderful. Next time we will definitely go to the beach at sunset.

Not much there except a general store and a couple art galleries. We were blown away by the most amazing pastries from Franny's Cup & Saucer. Bowling Ball beach has really interesting rock formations (go at low tide). The powerful waves around the lighthouse at new moon are really impressive. It can take a while to get there, but make the scenic drive up Highway 1 an enjoyable part of your trip.
The style and decor of the room exceeded our expectations. The room had beautiful, new furnishings and the bedding and linens were crisp white. The room felt as though we were in a private spa…relaxing and clean. Breakfast was delivered to us on time and was served in to go cardboard boxes with a hotel signature sticker and “Good Morning” message. Breakfast was delicious and again, spa like! Decor throughout the hotel features lovely color photographs of flowers and there is gorgeous landscaping throughout the property.
+ The cleanest place where I‘ve stayed in almost a month roadtrip. (Seriously! It‘s the only hotel we stayed where the floor was cleaned perfectly. And after checkout I saw the cleaning ladys even clean every window inside AND OUTSIDE, lamps, etc which is no matter of course!!)
+ very chique as the colours match and it‘s really nice lavender, bloomy.
+ checkin was flexible as we arrived later than 21:00 and it was super easy with the arrangements.
+ breakfast was super healthy, and obviously prepared with love.
We felt super comfortable at the Wharfs Inn in Point Arena with Karen and Cliff. It is a great, clean, friendly and quiet hotel with a great view from the balcony over the Pacific. Our room was very well appointed and the breakfast menu is great. The service staff are all helpful and nice. We did not eat dinner, we had already done that before check in. We have but on the terrace very good wine served including campfire. Thank you for the wonderful stay with you. We can only recommend the accommodation!
The Beauty and History of the Lighthouse....Pacific Ocean......Full Moon.....is too difficult to put into words and along with that...the assistance from all that worked at the property added to the complete enjoyment and appreciation.
The walking trails, the information about the entire area and history was helpful prompting fun time exploring.
Check-in was very easy and safe without being restricted to exact time of arrival....nice when on vacation.
We loved our stay at Head keeper’s Quarters. The space is bigger than our apartment at home and much nicer. We felt so comfortable staying there. I loved relaxing on the couch while reading a book and looking up at the view of the ocean outside the window. My boyfriend loved going outside and taking photos of the lighthouse especially during sunset. We both enjoyed Arena Mina’s company. We didn’t want to leave.
Loved the people that run this hotel, Dorothy was the receptionist when we got there and was wonderful. Didn't get the Gal in the morning name when we checked out, but she was wonderful also. The view is amazing. Bed was so comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Very good use of the space. Loved watching the fishing boats coming and goings.
The switch from just a Motel to a sustainable boutique Motel is a success. The rooms are very nice. The materials and ideas they have used are remarkable. For instance, day light in the bathroom. The outside with the flowers was very nice, as well.
Closed by is a Japanese Hotel which was a highlight as well.
Loved the modern rooms and the comfortable bed and linens. The rooms have all recently been redone and were stylish and tasteful. The hotel is convenient to downtown Point Arena and easy to walk around town. The breakfast was delicious and fresh.
The room was nice and cozy hotel was off of highway 1 staff was super friendly restaurants around were good hiking and sight seeing were beautiful. Was a relaxing vacation for me and my wife.
Clean, modern, ceiling fan, comfortable room. Large bathroom, with hot water. Comfortable bed. Close to the lighthouse (10 mins). The lighthouse tour starts at 10:15 am, opens at 10 am.
The location, view was great. Nice having the brewed coffee in the morning and a continental breakfast. We really enjoyed the hike and having the trail right behind the hotel
Everything from the lighthouse tour to the visits from the famous lighthouse cat. This place is a hidden gem. This may become a winter holiday tradition for my family.
