The location is great and beautiful. There are cabins for family and all the attractions are close to the lodge. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Location location location. Besides being walking distance to the train station as well as the local supermarket, we were able to make multiple trips to the lake to view the northern lights but most importantly, easily follow the elaborate hiking paths into the beautiful mountains of the national park.

Abisko is a really beautiful place. We went there to see the Northern lights and we were not disappointed. We also joined a snowmobile trip near our accommodation and it was fun and adventurous to tour around while riding the snowmobile and see wonderful sceneries. There are some other activities that can be done in Abisko too. Loads of love from Malaysia.

Abisko is small and friendly with a significant international population during the tourist season. It was easy to reach by overnight sleeper train from Stockholm. There is plenty to do but most people were there to see the Northern Lights because of its reputation as one of the most spectacular and accessible places in the world to see them. The only place to buy food is the convenience store attached to the gas station but it has a good range, at the prices you would expect for such a remote place. We visited in a “heat wave” of -15C in December when the locals expected more like -25C. Most accommodation and activities rent or provide boots and clothing to help you cope!

We particularly liked the fact that Abisko is remote and unspoilt. The scenery and mountainous backdrop are breathtaking and to have been able to hike around the area was delightful.
Seeing the Northern Lights on our second night, facilitated by Alex, was a dream come true and furnished us with some amazing pictures to take home to those who didn’t believe we would see them.
We ate a good, reasonably priced meal at Abisko Turiststation and would have liked to have tried the food at The Mountain Lodge but it was shut which was a shame.
The supermarket nearby is well- stocked and comparatively reasonably priced for essentials such as milk and bread.
The village is easily navigated on foot and well-signposted.

The natural part is stunning.
The natural part is stunning. Both winter and summer periods are filled with activities. Winter is special for the northern lights and 24hours night while the summer is known for the midnight sun and the Kungsleden trail for hike.

It is honestly one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen. We were staying there for several days, instead of just using it as a start of a long hike, were afraid that there is not going to be much to do. But there were enough short hikes and different views to keep us busy and in complete awe. Also, so many berries.

I was in a mixed dorm - which was clean and had enough space. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. They could however store toilet papers in the bathrooms as they tend to run over before the maintenance breaks.
Food was ok not great and little option available for snacks. Esp since this is a cold place - warm snacks would be a god send - and that was not even an option here.
Clean, warm and cosy place. Nice shower. Comfortable bed. Ability to have own bathroom. Good breakfast. Hot water available in the common area. Within walking distance to the train station, Abisko Östra, the national park, and the beach/pier. The beach is an excellent location to watch the northern lights, which we were lucky to see on the second night in Abisko Östra. At KP5, the aurora was white to the naked eye (green and pink to the camera), stunning and dancing across the sky.
Amazing place to stay.
A big kitchen for hostel people to store and cook.
We booked a quadruple room with window.
You can also book rentals for winter overalls from the store that is right opposite to the STF's reception.
The stay was so pleasant surrounded by nature and definitely a place to escape the regular hustle and bustle. The view from the room was so nice and we were constantly surrounded by the mountains.
Would definitely recommend STF Abisko.
It is a great spot with super nice views, we used it as our base to explore Abisko national park. The staff is really friendly and helpfull. Great food, both for breakfast, but also for dinner (you can check the menue on their homepage). Yes, the room does not have a TV....but trust me you don't need one with that nature:-) The helicopter base is in walking distance as well.
The house was spacious and had everything we needed including a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, and enough beds for 5 people. The heater kept the house nice and toasty. Staff were friendly when we checking in. We booked a tour of a fjord in Norway. The frozen lake Tornetrask is within walking distance and is a great location to view the Aurora Borealis.
Second time that I stayed in Abisko. It's such a beautiful nature around there. The hotel is a little luxury in a sometimes harsh environment. The kitchen is well equipped with everything that someone needs to cook the own meals.
Welcoming and friendly staff, clean, well equipped kitchen, sauna in the evening was awesome and good to meet people, good location close to the train station and not too far from the national park
The rooms were basic but comfortable. It's a great place to stay in the small-town of Abisko. The location is great for Aurora sighting and National Park
