- The house had very large mirror, letting you see very nice view clearly from inside the house.
- There was toilet on both floors, making it comfortable for a big group during rush hour.

There's not a lot to do in Ballstad plus I felt the view from the lodge was just okay. It is on the water but overlooks a cod fishing plant which is authentic but there are other towns whereby the view is in a fjord and much nicer to look out to.
Ballstad is convenient as it is a good midway point for the Lofoten Islands but I would recommend other towns to stay in for views and shops and cafes.

The diving in Ballstad was a wonderful experience. I traveled by bus from Leknes. Cafes and restaurants are within walking distance, which is nice about the area. Recommend bringing rain gear if you are traveling without a car. The weather changes easily.

Very small town with limited hotel and dining options.
Very small town with limited hotel and dining options. You visit Norway for the scenery but driving into Ballstad was one of the least scenic roads we were on. No compelling reason too visit or stay.

Ballstad is a beuatifull fishing village with mighty peaks just behind the rorbu houses. There are many locations that are truly inspiring for photographers. I am glad I visited this village, it is on par with Henningsvear or Nusfjord in my opinon.

Great location, close to airport.
Great location, close to airport. Nice structure, a little bit on spartan side as expected and desired. Real fishermen port, with nice local people very open and friendly, always ready to share a beer and some chat. lovely.

The shops are far from the hostel (40 min by walking) and not so alive. But if you come to rest and to do small hikes it's great. Easy to reach Leknes (15 min by car) or Reine if you have a car. Not so many busses.
We loved Villa Ballstad! Since we were the only guests at that time, we got an upgrade to a very nice room with balcony (where we were able to watch Northern Lights from bed!). This was already at the beginning of the stay very attentive from the hosts. The whole living area is really nice, the kitchen is quite big and offers everything we needed. We were also able to use the sauna, which was really nice :) We can just imagine that staying here in summer would be magnifique as well!
Thanks a lot for a lovely time!
WOW! Ballstad is a great location for your home base in the Lofoten Islands. The cabin was spacious, the beds were decent, and the fully stocked kitchen was convenient. This place was epic and is close to so many trails and activities. Roland was a really great guide for our midnight sea kayaking excursion and there was a very cute and friendly cat who wanders the area and came to see us every day. The receptionist helped me also surprise my husband for his birthday and left a few treats in our cabin.
The best accommodation on our trip to Lofoten! Beautiful location, amazing panoramic windows with a view over Ballstad, incredibly clean (so that you understand - the keys were sterilized upon our arrival) and very comfortable till every single detail. The kitchen had all the needed utilities but also everything is new and of good quality. The communication was also very friendly and every single issue (we forgot something) was figured out quickly. I wish we stayed here longer!
The robru was extremely well equipped. Everything you needed seemed to be there. The view across the water was lovely whether from the outside patio or from the rooms that looked that direction. Ballstad is a lovely village to be based in as it's a working environment, with normal life going on around you. It also has a small supermarket, cafe, and a choice of good restaurants. We highly recommend!
Very nice place lose to and with nice view (in our case) on Ballstad fishing harbour. Cabins small but in our case (the one closest to port for five persons) sufficient. Bathroom floor heated. Heating room with wood highly recommended, wood has to be purchased. Of course, noisy. Let the owner show you the „African cabin“😀 and let him tell some stories. Lower price than many other cabins.
Welcome was nice. Although our room was a little small, the kitchen was very useful. Bathroom and toilet were pretty good. The bed was comfortable. It was a very nice experience and stay in Lofoten. Location of hotel is good. I regret that a fisherman came to our room in the afternoon and missed the offer of codfish :) Greetings to you fisherman.
OMG! What a a place. The best choice in my entire trip. Ballstad is a small town that is close to all the places you want to visit in Lofoten. and this hotel is charming, it looks new, intelligently built and with comfort, cleanliness and beauty both inside and around. We loved it, also the price was very good compared to Norwegian prices
Everything! I stayed here 6 nights in the hotels cabin (No.1), it was my sweet cozy home during the whole week of rainy and windy weather in Lofoten, even with this weather I managed to see Auroras 3 or 4 times in total. The owner’s family are so nice and welcoming. I definitely want to come back again…
Simple and comfortable cabin with everything we needed to cook a meal, hang out, and enjoy the area. The loft in the cabin was cute. Host was welcoming and helpful, providing recommendations for Ballstad. A little different than a hotel room- just tidy up the cabin before departing.
Superb! All staff are very kind and helpful. The owner was checking on us every time and trying to give us more information to enjoy. The hotel was very detailed and thoughtful. It worth for all, and I definitely come back. Also the food at “Fangst”was great experience.
Our accommodations were a nice break from the hotel lodging of our previous week in a different city. We had a lovely indoor seating area, an outdoor seating area and a kitchenette. Laundry room was a welcomed bonus on day 9 of our vacation.
The place was amazing. The room we get was perfect - the design, coziness and ect. The place of hotel was also great. We get Aurora Borealis that night. The hotel offer dining service. Not much choise but the food was good.
I loved the location as well as the hotel itʻs safe. It was a high end experience with a focus on being eco-friendly! I loved the personal experience with the staff and owner Kristian on our short stay. I will be back!
