Berdorf is my favorite go-to location if I wanna go on a hiking weekend. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, so very doable for a weekendtrip. The entire Echternach region in beautiful (check out the Mullerthal Trail), but the region around Berdorf is especially beautiful. The forests around Berdorf all have those typical rock formations with stairs and ladders, little chasms etc that really make it so much more interesting than a normal forest hike. The town itself is very small and is really just meant to spend the night in between two days of heavy hiking.
We had a fabulous stay at the hotel. The room was cozy, the staff very friendly and welcoming (we got sandwiches to go for our hike without even asking). In the morning and evening, we enjoyed our stay on the little and quiet terrace. From a location perspective, it is great starting point for Mullerthal Trail Route 2 and very close to Echternach, the starting point for Mullerthal Trail Route 1.
Excellent location right in the heart of the Müllerthal, with several trails starting within 500 meter from the hotel.
Very spacious suite with a comfortable bed and a small balcony. There is ample parking space behind the hotel.
There is a useful self-check-in when arriving outside of the (limited) reception hours, although the signage could be improved (I was at the wrong door initially).
Everything were exceptionally good!
The location of the hotel (easy to many hiking paths), the building itself (very spacious common areas, roof garden, easy parking). Condition of the room and cleanliness amazing (exactly what we saw in the pictures, even better).Very nice breakfast.
And the staff very friendly and helpful!
This hotel/restaurant was a hidden gem. We had a very large bedroom with a large deck/balcony. Hotel is in a sleepy bedroom community with country livestock within walking distance in the countryside (no smells). The restaurant cook is amazing and should be a big time chef in any major city.
location was good for hiking the mullerthal, bus stop is next door for travelling to nearby towns and trail 2 passes in front of the hotel. breakfast was simple but good with lots of bread choice and fresh fruits. Staff was very friendly.
The hotel staff was really nice and hospitable. They spoke mutliple languages so there's no fear for a language barrier. It was really close to the hiking routes and there are multiple restaurants nearby for an easy lunch/dinner.
The hotel is on a perfect spot, runs by enthusiastic owner and staff. Safe parking for our motorbike.
Bar and restaurant are good value for money. All together a place where we will return for sure.
The hotel owner family was very welcoming and friendly. They made fantastic breakfast every morning.
I would highly recommend this place when you are in town for hiking or biking.
Nice hotel, clean, garage available, free parking, close to a bus stop (buses are free), wifi works well.
we got Easter gifts during breakfast, that was very col.
from the terrasse you can enjoy an astonishing view over the fields and the forest! the hotel is very close to several starting point of the Mullerthal-trail!
Clean, spacious, shared terrace which was nice, great breakfast, friendly hosts / employees. Also close to hiking areas and a bus stop in front of the hotel
