Very warm welcome from the owners, a very nice couple who will do their best to communicate with you with their electronic translator. The place is big and comfortable. Supposedly it has a view on mount Fuji but it was cloudy so we couldn't see it.

We did not have time to explore the town at all, but overall seemed like a beautiful place by the lake. Would highly recommend because I think this place is less mobbed by tourists that Fujikawaguchiko.

It was a nice place to stop for a few days before heading back to Tokyo.
Great places to eat and beautiful walks around the lake.
There is a bathhouse not to far from the hotel but they do not allow tattoos- no exceptions.

This is a beautiful area full of nature and amazing views.
This is a beautiful area full of nature and amazing views. I went in October so out of the main season and it was nice and quiet with not many visitors around.
Renting a Swan boat and feeding the ducks was great fun!
I couldn't find a single vegetarian restaurant in town so something to be aware of if you don't eat meat or fish.
Just be aware of the army base from which you can hear artillery fire every day. It's loud and a little disconcerting!
I think Yamanakako is less touristy than Kawaguchiko which for me is a good thing.

It's a great area if you like outdoorsy activities.
It's a great area if you like outdoorsy activities. There's several hiking trails around the Lake, which are well marked and reward you with an awesome view of Fujisan when you get to the destination. The trails up to Mt Takazasu and Mt Myojin are good and take in the Panorama-Dei spot which is popolar for viewing Fujisan. All-day parking is available at Yamanakako Community Plaza Kirara, and the trailheads are 20-30min walk away from there.
There is also a very nice 15km cycling path around the Lake, which is a very long but pleasant walk. If you're not outdoorsy, then the options are more limited to the nice restaurants, and there are high end and nice lower-priced options (Denny's, Cafe Gusto). There are also various onsen and sento in the town.

Pros - Mt Fuji is a glory to see so close up and the clouds and the skyline around the mountain were in a constant dance of change - breathtaking. The reflections of the sunset clouds on the lake were were dazzling. The freshness of the pristine air. The lack of high humidity. The sense of well-being offered by the area. The vehicles stopped at zebra crossings which isn't always the case in certain cities.
Cons - At times we have to walk on the road within half a metre of passing vehicles. That could have possible unwanted outcomes.

Yamanashi in general was gorgeous.
Yamanashi in general was gorgeous. We stayed at Yamanakako and it was a great place to stay at to get away from the stressful work environment in the city. We didn't get to eat at any local restaurants since we were too busy exploring the surrounding areas but you won't be left wanting for food options since everywhere you go, there's a restaurant nearby and they all looked so good. I think it would be more convenient if you travel around by car since the bus fare can get a little expensive if you're traveling far.
I was able to make a special order for a gluten-free breakfast with an extra ¥200 fee which was great! The coffee for my husband was exceptional and deliciously made, you can tell the host is a professional! We played ping-pong, relaxed while watching a movie in the living-room area and also took a great ofuro. We were also able to borrow a couple of bikes and go around the beautiful lake of Yamanakako. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice getaway place
the rooms were very clean and the view absolutely gorgeous. waking up to mt Fuji in your view is amazing. the rooms are huge so families with kids will appreciate this. the basement ping pong and billiard was an added plus to pass some time.
location wise it was quite good. we walked out to have dinner at the Hottou shop nearby.
onsen was small but clean and I liked the idea of each room/family being able to choose a time and go in privately as a family.
Yamanakako is a very small and sleepy town. It’s fit for travelers that are looking to escape city sounds and immerse in the woods. Teiensaryo was a very pleasant stay with incredible food. The place is family run by three generations. It’s also a 5 minute walk from the bus terminal and lake. The host are very accommodating and will drop you off wherever you need to get you to your next destination.
The heaters for the futon! It made the bed even more comfortable. They really make a difference for a good night's sleep in winter.
Even though there's a likely chance Mt Fuji may not be seen due to weather conditions, it's right by the lake, so it's very close to nature. You can see ducks and swans all around you.
Very calming and relaxing atmosphere. Good for escaping from the city.
The location is great. It’s a short 5-7 minute walk to a beautiful view of Yamanakako, and there’s a bus station there as well.
The onsen is small, but the size is ok based on the number of guests at the hotel — I used the bath both nights and only saw one other person.
The price is excellent.
Charming hostel with cozy common places, great kitchen and the Fuji-san view from the balcony! Clean rooms, all necessary kitchen tools and city bikes to rent. It was great to ride across the lake (the rental is cheaper than near the lake beach). Friendly and helpful owners! Best hostel ever)
Accommodation was awesome, and came with all the amenities you can think of, including grills, nespresso machines, etc. Location was amazing, and it was surreal to wake up to Mt Fuji in the distance. Jacuzzi hot tub was a great onsen substitute!
The tents are great - large and clean- and the place has an overall cool vibe. The DYI breakfast is simple and delicious. Rental bikes are available and arr a great way of enjoying the lake and the views of Mt Fuji - highly recommended.
The onsen was great. They provided bykes to cycle the beat of the 5 lakes: Yamanakako. Very quiet. We loved our stay. The fouton beds were comfortable and this comes from someone who always slept in western soft beds.
The room is in Japanese style with shared toilet and wash basin. The hotel is close to a coach stop in Yamanako. The location is very convenient. I borrowed a bike from the hotel for free and circled the lake, 14 km.
Lovely hotel in a pretty area. Bicycles were great for riding around the lake. Owner was very helpful booking our bus for the next day and organising a taxi for us to the bus stop. Great place to view Mount Fuji.
Excellent location. Could not get better ! . Overlooking Lake Yamanakako with mt Fuji rising in distance was absolutely superb!
Owner was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The place is kept very clean.
This is a beautiful property and we were very comfortable here and slept well. The shower and bath were delightful.
The lake here is our favorite of the five lakes and the local Onsen has great views of Fuji.
Spacious room, clean, free toiletries both in room and at spa-room. Stand alone Hotel , nothing nearby. Pick-up service from bus station available, nice view of Mt. Fuji.
Good only for stays.
If you just want a sound sleep this is good hotel.
Room has good lake view.
Some room has great view of Mt. Fuji.
Room is clean and huge.
