Collinstown is a lovely place!
Collinstown is a lovely place! The Highfield House offered views of the Lough Lene, and the amazing green hills and valleys that just rolled on forever. Breakfast, full Irish as well as vegetarian, were offered. A short drive, offered options for a picnic lunch. A 10 minute drive to us to Delvin to a lovely pub (sorry I can't remember the name). The food and service were great. Collinstown and surrounding areas were easy and safe to get around. Locals were friendly, and happy to offer directions and make suggestions. We were here for a wedding in nearby Delvin, so didn’t have chance to explore much. However, the scenery is stunning and there is a local shop a few minutes walk away for any snacks/essentials that would be needed.
