The position of the Mt Brandon Hostel , in the tiny unspoilt friendly village of Cloghane, not on the major tourist routes, and within walking distance of the eastern approach to the Mount Brandon walk ( grade 3, reasonably strenuous, but with fantastic views from beginning to the end at the peak), has made this little detour on our Ireland trip one of the highlights! The hostel has the basics but the staff are fabulous and we got lucky with perfect early summer weather for our three days.

Not honest people!I called directly to ask for 2 single rooms, as advertise on booking.com. I was told there was only 1 so I decline booking with them. They never told me they would still charged me for 1 room! I am pursuing a refund now.
