Despite arrival after 2300.. they were waiting for us
We stayed for 4 nights in this lovely city. It's a small city with so much history and culture. Architecture was a treat for the eyes. We visited in the spring time and missed botanical gardens and awesome looking aqua park, but it was a great stay none the less.
Make sure to visit tourist center. They are super helpful and have guides on almost all languages, with maps, working hours and all kinds of other information one might need.
There are plenty of things to visit and see. We definitely plan on returning.

Szeged is a beautiful city, enjoyable by adults and small children as well. It contains many beautiful buildings, parks and playgrounds. The old city is quite new - built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries after a disastrous flood in 1879. The city is well know aquapark, but there is another beautiful aquapark in a nearby town of Makó.
We enjoyed coffee, ice cream and desserts in several cafés around the old town. .
We considered also making trips to Serbia and Romania, which are very close to Szeged, but we didn´t make it due to lack of time.

Go for the warmth - highest number of sunshine hours in the country - or the thermal baths and swimming pools. Or the vibrant university life with abundant cultural activities. Great river walks and amazing bird life in the surrounding countryside. Very welcoming people in a family friendly town.

Szeged is a very charming city.
Szeged is a very charming city. I enjoy its atmosphere very much. There is a limited amount of activities to be done during the evenings, but I actually went there for work, so I might not be informed enough.
I enjoyed the open air market on Saturdays at Mars Tér; it's a very good place to buy fresh and local products, vegetables and fruits. Otherwise I liked simply strolling around the city.

If you want a weekend break in a provincial city in Central Europe, let Szeged be your destination. This is not just another town in the Land of the Magyars - and I have been to about 15 of them. The Art Nouveau (or Succession) architecture is fabulous. Go to the Mora Museum. Check out the Dom and the Synagogue. All glory to the City of Sunshine.
The hotel offered comfortable and convenient accommodations, making it a great choice for travelers. One of the highlights was the free parking available right outside, adding to the ease of my visit. The self-check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, a testament to the hotel’s modern approach. The rooms were not only clean but also cosy, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This hotel is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a straightforward, comfortable, and cost-effective stay in Szeged.
Excellent hotel situated close to the city center of Szeged, and is a few minutes ride by car. Breakfast and dinner buffet was fresh, delicious with variety of food. Spacious room with balcony, comfortable, cosy bed, roomy bathroom, several types of lighting in the room, and above all everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful, caring and friendly, so we were very pleased with our stay here.
Excellent hotel, it ticks all the boxes - great location, polite and friendly staff, safe private parking, tasty and plentiful breakfast, very nice rooms and bathrooms, cleanliness on a highest level.
Exceptional value for money.
I would gladly stay here again and recommend it to all who are looking for a modern, clean, comfortable and cosy hotel in the heart of Szeged.
The apartment is clean and very comfortable and has the most amazing view! I loved relaxing on the balcony in the morning. Lovely apartment, ideally placed, just a few minutes walk to city centre. Our host was very kind and helpful - he really did make our time in Szeged so special. Always there to help as well. I would definetely recommend this place a hundred times!
Very friendly and helpful guest house owners, flexible check in time till midnight, exceptionally clean rooms. We had a huge nice balcony shared with our neighbours and there was a very green garden underneath. Though there were very basic room amenities, we had all we needed for a good night sleep after a long way transiting from Germany to Bulgaria through Hungary.
This was a nice place to stay within walking distance of the main sights of Szeged. The family room made an excellent use of space - being able to have 3 kids stay on the bunk/trundle combo was great.
The parking garage was a great amenity but it is very very tight.
Breakfast had a wide selection and appealed to even picky eaters.
everything I liked here, starting with the big smile from reception, so nice guy, clean , quiet ( as I asked when I am booking) and very comfortable room , the bad and pillow was great , breakfast also was at the high quality standard ; congratulations for my best choice of hotel!😃
It’s the 5th or 6th time staying at this hotel, when we are in Hungary, we always choose Science Hotel. We like everything about it, especially king size beds and breakfast:) The bed mattress is amazing! Very comfortable. It’s always clean and cozy, the staff is always friendly.
Attention to details to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We always make a stop in Szeged during our road trips and Noir hotel will be our top choice going forward. Such a comfortable bed and spotless apartment hotel apartment is actually hard to find even in large cities.
The hotel location is great, easy to access to the main street or even for the river. The hotel room was clean. The staff was helpful. Unfortunately, we had a second day a loud neighbour and his tv. No one can make him quiet during the night. We enjoy visiting Szeged.
I have been to Szeged a few times, and this is the best place I've rented, the apartment is amazing, has everything you might need, tidy and clean with modern and elegant decor, it gets a fair share of light during the day and it's not far from the city center.
nice location in the city centre
lot of restaurants coffee shops grocery stores pharmacy nearby plus all the major attractions
friendly helpful night manager guy and the lady at the morning
always use this hotel when staying in Szeged
Beautiful hotel located near river, city center and aqua park. Enjoyed tremendously in cleanliness of the room, rich breakfast and well educated and very helpful staff. I would recommend Novotel Szeged always.
Novotel Szeged has renovated the room and bathroom since last time I stayed there. It is much better now.
Breakfast is good and location is within walking distance to the city center.
The girls who worked at the reception were very kind and helpful, the room was great with a terrace, very comfortable. The hotel is in the strict center and has its own parking.
Good location to arrive by car, easy access to the city, towntown is in walking distance. It served us well to have a city trip. We found parking close to the hotel.
