The Rosedale Hotel & Restaurant, hotel in Sconser

Set in a converted cluster of fisherman’s houses along Portree Harbor the hotel offers plenty of character and quirks. There are 17 bedrooms with attached bathroom with all expected facilities.

Location on the water was close to many restaurants. It was also right in town and close to the car park.

Marmalade, hotel in Sconser

Marmalade is grade “B” listed building, dating back to 1817. Boat and distillery trips depart from Portree and the rocky hill The Old Man of Storr is 7 miles away. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.

We loved our stay but initially I was a bit disappointed in our room with a big coffee stain in the corner and a stain on the sheets. However- the staff were amazing and the restaurant was really delicious too! I had wanted to meet the women whose names were on every email but gave up after asking multiple people at the front desk if they were them lol. We stayed in the older section and the top floor. The view out the window was lovely of the ocean altho it was pouring rain almost all of our visit lol. We really enjoyed the Isle of Skye!

Bracken Hide Hotel, hotel in Sconser

Located in Portree, 22 miles from Dunvegan Castle, Bracken Hide Hotel has accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. This 4-star hotel offers luggage storage space.

The cottages are super cute and cozy! The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. They work really hard and it shows. The kitchen made me a vegetarian dish to accommodate a food allergy which was amazing. Dan in the bar makes some great cocktails. Not only is he knowledgeable about scotch, he makes the best amaretto sours I’ve ever had.

House of Juniper, hotel in Sconser

Located in Broadford, 8.5 miles from Kyle of Lochalsh, House of Juniper has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

Our room was modern and had a fireplace with a glowing “fire” that made the room cosy. The king size bed was very comfortable, and the modern rain shower fixture as well as the handheld shower head were great. The view from our room on the 3rd floor was beautiful. Everything was very clean and the staff attentive to all our requests. Their new restaurant, The Sprig, served the best Eggs Benedict I have eaten, and dinner was very good. Wait staff were friendly and the manager very helpful.

Lovely location, friendly staff nice room with great views. Restaurant is only serving same bar menu. Food was horrible and very limited choice. Believe hotel is short staffed so expectations need to be managed.

The location is superb, the house is great, the hosts are brilliant, the food is fantastic, and the rooms are all large, light, airy, with en-suites. The 4 poster bedroom is the best I've come across! I wholeheartedly recommend, for B+B, but also for dinner.

Good area to access hiking trails and central for touring. Probably not representative of how it is normally ie out of covid period with many more visitors and campervans everywhere- but thats the way Skye is nowadays beautiful scenery and very peaceful during our trip, with no midges!!

Isolated little suburb on the Isle of Skye right on the ocean. There are only a handful of restaurants around the area (10 minute drive) with Portree being the bigger town about 30 minutes away. Sconser didn't have any grocery stores so come prepared! An amazing place to stay. Unfortunately it was pouring with rain during our visit so we weren't able to explore the nearby hiking trails
