Anne is such a lovely lady and even offered to drop us off in the village
The property is in a beautiful place maybe just a bit too far from the village but we did walk down once and a lovely lady from the pub dropped us back to Anne’s house.
Would definitely recommend and we would stay again if we come back to Fort Augustus.

Lovely area, right on the end of Loch Ness with terrific views. The Canal Locks are great to watch in operation, with all types of boats going through. Good restaurants and nice pub along the canal. Good central place to visit other areas, Inverness, Mallaig and Fort William.

Situated at the end of Loch Ness with a steep set of locks which form the start of the Caledonian Canal, Fort Augustus is a must visit destination if you are in the area. There is a good sized car park and an excellent choice of places to eat. We had an excellent meal at the Chinese restaurant. Lots of opportunities for boat trips along the loch and some nice shops for souvenirs.

We stayed here only one night whilst doing the Great Glen Way although it seemed like a beautiful place and there seemed to be many other things to do in the area. Lots of options for dinner (compared with other towns along the way).

Fort Augustus is a great spot to attractions in the area and easy drive for location upto 2hours away, like Glencoe, Fort William, Glenfinnin Viaduct, Aviemore ski fields, Urquart Castle, Inverness, Skye. Cruising or walk along Loch Ness are brilliant.
The town is gorgeous with many good eateries within walking distance or a short drive away.
Locals are friendly, inviting and engaging. I would live there if I could!

Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really.
Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really. Walked around a bit in the evening when we arrived. Only there for 2 days and used as a base for trips around Loch Ness - Urquart Castle, Culloden Battlefield. Which were all great.
Arrived on a Friday night after 8pm in early November. Only places still serving food were a very expensive Chinese restaurant in a hotel and a place called The Moorings which appeared to be a kebab shop that dabbled in everything else. Unfortunately, they should stick to one thing and really try to nail that. We ordered the worst eat out Pizzas we've ever eaten - worse than home brand supermarket frozen and they were very expensive - £15+ each. Even the local chip shop was closed, at 8.30pm on a Friday! OK, we didn't come for the late night fast food. Bring your own or eat a good lunch.

Much quieter than Inverness and a delightful pretty village with good pubs and recommend The Bothy. Take a short walk to the very bottom of Loch Ness. Also take a drive down the much quieter and superbly more scenic route down the east side of Loch Ness on B862/B852. Fascinating to see the canal locks in the village.
Affordable apartment in Hogwarts-style resort; the amenities are wonderful for families with an indoor swimming pool (must pre-book a time), ping-pong, billiards, board games etc and the ability for archery, ax-throwing and knife-throwing right on Loch Ness. The apartment gave us the option to cook our own meals after driving long distances and eating out during our 10-day trip. It is a great launching site to other places in the Highlands and our family really enjoyed it!
It was so refreshing experience to stay at the lodge. The location of the lodge is excellent - just 2 mins from Loch Ness centre at Fort Augustus. The staff is super friendly, cheerful and energetic. The breakfast is quite fulfilling, worth every single penny of it or even more than that. The beds were very comfortable in the room with very clean, tidy and suitable sized room. The en suite bathroom was also big and super clean.
Beautiful property, spacious enough for a good sized family. Excellent location, unique property, and fantastic amenities. Plenty to do even in the winter time. The indoor heated pool was a family favorite. Easy walk to get groceries and enjoy Fort Augustus, and it’s a great starting point for day trips around Loch Ness, down south to Glencoe, and further west to Isle of Skye. Loved the claw foot tub and heated towel holders!
Fort Augustus is a nice village, south of the Loch Ness, with lots of craft shops, some pubs and restaurants, quite lively in summer.
The establishment is an hotel and Chinese restaurant; I got the room which has an independent entrance door on the 1st floor (stairs from the parking). It was quiet and the room was large (double bedroom and single bed) and clean.
Breakfast was good with options.
The apartment is in a fantastic central location for Fort Augustus, secure access and parking with incredible facilities! Loads to do, loads of places to eat, thats if you choose not to stay in and cook yourself! Clean, modern, comfortable and spacious with a long history and sublime views straight onto Loch Ness! Check out the photo from the window at sunrise...
Very modern and comfortable and perfectly located for exploring the Loch Ness Area. A good breakfast can be purchased in the cafe downstairs and there is The Moorings for evening meal or a takeaway just 5 minutes away. Situated right in the centre of Fort Augustus, the accommodation is easy to find as it is right on the canal.
This hostel offers excellent private bedrooms. Both the room and the bathroom were spacious, and we had a nice garden outlook. The breakfast was varied and enjoyable. Staff were friendly and the wifi was generally good. Cafes and restaurants were about 10 mins' walk away. There was parking at the lodge.
Greeted with a lovely welcome to our cabin which was spacious, clean and had everything you needed. The lemon and poppy seed cake and chocolate cake that was waiting for us in the kitchen went down a treat with a cuppa after our long drive to fort Augustus. A beautiful area to stay in for a few days.
This is in a perfect location very close to the centre of Fort Augustus with views over Loch Ness, it is beautiful. The room was a last minute deal and great value for money, comfortable and had everything we required. It also welcomed dogs in certain rooms as well which we needed.
The pod was clean and cosy and the park is in a brilliant location just a few minutes walk from the centre of Fort Augustus. The staff were very friendly on arrival and showed us to our pod and made sure we had all the information we needed. We will definitely be back!
Fort Augustus is very nice anyway, and Loch Ness Guest House is in a nicely central location. Accomodation is very good and they say they just offeer a complementary breakfast, but actually it is a perfect continental one. A highly recommended place
Restaurant staff were very friendly and informative.
Taster menu was interesting for me; not quite up to my wife's satisfaction.
Location of Fort Augustus was fine for access to Loch Ness, Isle of Skye and then down West Coast via Oban.
Loch Ness is a marvelous location and the Highlands Club used to be really good, however maintenance and administration are horrible at the moment and are running the place to the ground. Will find someplace else for my next stay.
Really nice location at the edge of Loch Ness, a short walk into Fort Augustus and the restaurant on site serves a lovely breakfast. The pods have everything you need for a short stay.
well appointed, supper clean large property with amazing view of the Loch Ness. everything was well taken care of and provided for. Definitely going back again soon.
The location was good, a reasonable walking distance into Fort Augustus. The room was a decent size, the bedding was fairly cheap and the towels were really small.
