Spoiled. Totally spoiled by Blu Galapagos. Everything was over the top perfection. The hotel is on the waterfront near the Charles Darwin Research Center and just enough on the edge of town that you feel isolated yet still within a five minute walk to the heart of this sweet port town. We stayed in the Darwin Suite which is primo for celebrating a loved one or yourself. I’ll be back for sure.

Puerto Ayora is a place where you can enjoy the nature and have the facilities of touristic places like different restaurants, bars, etc. Unfortunately, because of those facilities the fauna has gone to other islands like San Cristobal so that is a downside, but if you go with family it is a great place to get a screenshot of what Galapagos is.

A small but beautiful city.
A small but beautiful city. It was a fishing village but has been transformed to a tourist town. The main street -- Ave. Charles Darwin, is full of life, literally -- sea lions, iguanas, pelicans, etc. It's an adventure like no other.

It's a nice, friendly town.
It's a nice, friendly town. It's got plenty of ATMS, several grocery stores, and a lovely oceanfront walk. The fish market is a must see in the morning. There are sea lions who hang around waiting for scraps. I also saw iguanas and pelicans waiting for handouts. There's very nice bars, restaurants, and market stalls. It's a little spendy, because you're on an island. There's things you can do for free, on your own. There's also TONS of tour companies running day trips to all the nearby islands. You can walk most anywhere, and there are cheap taxis as well.

The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research...
The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research center was full of shops, restaurants both cheap and expensive, street food, and travel agencies. People are friendly and it’s clean and safe.
Los Kiosko is an intense street where people are coming at you with menus trying to get you come to them - at the same time. But they have specials for $5 lunch or dinner plus a regular menu with cheap meals too. Great Ecuadorian food! We ate ice cream everyday! There was a little froyo place on Baltra and a gelato place down the same street closer to the harbor that was excellent. We found pan de yucca at a street food vendor that was magical, though not always open.
Sea lions are everywhere near the water (not in the same capacity as San Cristobal but still).
You can watch blue footed boobies diving into the water all the time and the frigits are out in mass as well!
Everyone is happy.
Also we found our favorite travel agency with the Galapagos Living Travel Agency. They were fair priced and hilarious. Lots of laughs and planning of epic next day adventures.

We liked the laid-back feeling when the main road was closed...
We liked the laid-back feeling when the main road was closed in the evening and the music of the street musicians. We also liked the accessibility of shops, beaches, wildlife, information centre and harbour,
Above all, we appreciated every smiling face and helpful citizen in town.
- very friendly staff; the owner and her daughter was not only friendly, on top of that she asked us every morning about our plans for the day and gave us a lot of helpful information
After seeing my sunburn, she has given me a very useful Aloe-Vera-Gel for free and because of the fact, that we've had to check-out early before breakfast because of our ferry, she has given us a breakfast to go. That's great service!
- great room
- the WLAN is not perfect, but compared with other hotels at the Galapagos Islands, it is quite good
Great location with a stunning view of a lagoon and the sea, very large rooms well equipped. Daily cleaning, incl. bath towels and free coffee.
We rented the upper two floors with 3 bedrooms, kitchen with dining table, 2 living rooms, 3 showers and 4 toilets. Enough space for a family with children. The villa is only accessible from Puerto Ayora by water taxi. This is not a problem as the water taxis operates 7/24. We never had to wait more than 10' for a water taxi and we always enjoyed the ride on the water taxis.
Great location for a good price. Friendly staff. The aircon was decent enough to keep the room cool. The bed is huge, as it is two small double beds put together, and you don't notice any gap in the middle. Next door to one of the best restaurants in town and close to everything else, including the best beach in Puerto Ayora, playa de la estación. Decent kitchen with plenty of seating, and free drinking water. Plus you can leave your bags in the hostel after checkout.
This hotel is incredible: the location, the organization, the breakfasts. If you want a real treat, this is it. Their tour guide was maybe my favourite part. Finch Bay also did their utmost to help organize our trip back from Isabela Island to mainland Ecuador. I mean, it's very expensive, so you pay for it, but it was a really nice treat.
We stayed in four different budget-friendly hotels in Puerto Ayora, this one was by far the best value for money. I love to cook and was really surprised to see quality kitchenware, a sharp knife and a gas cooker, all in excellent order. The owners clearly took pride in their business as the room was sparkly clean on arrival.
The staff is absolutely wonderful. They are the most considerate staff I have ever encountered in a hotel. Not only pleasant to talk to, but carrying luggage, ordering a taxi, anything to help make your stay better. Special thanks to Omer, Daniel & the lady that cooked our breakfast each day. (Sorry, didn't catch her name)
The chalet is located in a very peaceful area south west of Puerto Ayora, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the beach. I had a beautiful wood-panelled room with a balcony, a hammock, a view of the sea and an ensuite bathroom. Pilar was also a very friendly and accommodating host. I had a very pleasant and relaxing stay.
The hotel was exactly what we hoped for in terms of locations and cleanliness, and Pedro was incredible! He helped with everything from booking last minute tours to making eggs every morning. The location was perfect for walking to everything Puerto Ayora had to offer and the room had everything we needed.
The hotel is away from the noise of the main street. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room was large and bright. The bed was very comfortable with a good choice of pillows.
The rooftop hot tub and lounge area was lovely.
Breakfast was excellent.
Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. The host is attentive and helpful and very friendly. The hotel is clean. The breakfast is very good and there are other things there like hammock and books and a Jacuzzi, etc..
Nice location, laid back atmosphere, free water, cleaned everyday: good value for money. We booked an extra night to spend 4 in total. I would advise to hire 2 bikes in Puerto Ayora for getting around, possible at this hostel
The hotel was centrally located, and the staff was very nice. The family room was spacious with a couch and large bed and also had a kitchen to fix snacks for excursions. Breakfast was fresh and served in the room.
great stay at Hotel Acacia. very pleasant concept that I would not have expected in the Galápagos Islands. the hotel staff really makes the difference - very pleasant and always helpful. 100% recommendation
Perfect location! Honestly the best hotel on the island. So cozy. The restaurant is amazing and beautiful view. Every day right at my feet were sea lions, crabs, pelicans and fish. It was a dream .
The location was quiet and peaceful compared to Puerto Ayora. Breakfast was included and staff was able to adjust time of breakfast to meet my needs. They were helpful in calling taxis to town.
Off the main street in Puerto Ayora, a nice tucked away quiet location. Kitchen available, fresh water dispenser available (very nice!). Rooms are a good size. Air con works well.
