It's a great base for exploring the east Kimberley and has very adequate grocery liquor and butchery stores for self catering. It's an interesting town and people are nice. People cautioning us about security were wrong. We felt safe and secure the whole time. Saturday market was fun.

This was our third visit to Kununnurra and we would definitely visit again!
Our kids love The Grotto - particularly in dry season when it’s more suited to swimming.
Mirima NP is such a surprise so close to town. Many walking tracks to make each visit a little different.
Lake Argyle is stunning and so surprisingly huge. We’ve cruised, with swim, there on each visit.
Check the supermarket closing times before making plans. They open and close earlier than where we live - easy adjustment to our plans to suit.

Kununurra was a great place to stay and base activities from if you are travelling on your own and without a car. Lots of day and overnight tours operate from here including Lake Argyle and Ord river boat cruises and flights over the Bungle Bungles. Accommodation is not too expensive. The town itself is small but has all the basics including a Coles. It has a couple of nice Art galleries including an excellent Indigenous Artist one, Artlandish. I stayed at the Kimberly Grande which is a little bit out of town but it had a good restaurant and a very good cafe called Spilled the Beans about 100m away in a caravan park across the road.

The town seems extremely run down from when I was there ten years ago. The service at the petrol stations and exspecially the wild mango cafe was very average. The hospitality seeks to be run by international travellers creating a confusion with communication and knowledge of the area and the puma petrol station in particular there service is embarrassing and they have no idea on customer service

Every time I get to Kununurra I always book at the hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and everything you want or need is only a short distance away. The restaurant is good with a great selection on the menu.
If anyone chooses to stay you won't be disappointed.

this hotel is very run down and old with no facilities restaurant and bar as advertised we went off photos of the place but it looked nothing like it when we arrived we put Ibis Styles into our maps and we couldnt find it unknown to us it had changed ownership and changed its name to The Cambridge it would of been nice to be notified
I must say the new management were very nice trying to explain that there was going to be huge renovations happening
We had a king room. Very spacious with a vety comfy king bed. Room had a little kitchenette and spacious bathroom. The gardens and pool area are lovely. Like the add says, its a hidden little oasis in the centre of town. Tbere is a huge communal kitchen, should you need to do some cooking. Secure parking for cars is provided on site. Kununurra pub is walking distance and food there is good. Overall a pleasant stay..
Our daughter was being a nightmare the night before. So we were pretty desperate for a sleep as we had none the night before. The staff lovely enough to get us checked in before checkin time. So we could have a afternoon sleep. Unfortunately we didnt stay the night and pushed on to our final destination. This hotel was very accommodating and clean.
The hotel staff was very helpful specially a young name by the name Justin. He picked us up from the bus dropped off late at night which we really appreciated. The restaurant accommodated us although they were fully booked. The pillows and bed were good. Big TV, big rooms, big showers hence the name grande.
Very tidy and modern apartment overlooking the lake. The location was just perfect for exploring tourist attractions in and around Kununurra. Provision of wi-fi made the stay even more comfortable. Staff are very respectful and professional.
Had emailed twice about an airport pick up. This did not get responded to. Tried to call many times while at the airport and phone was not answered. Ended up having to walk 5.5k with luggage to hotel in middle of the day.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was a little out of town which was better and also close to the airport. Pool and garden was nice. Café opposite. Restaurant/ pub at hotel next door within easy walk.
Breakfast was simple but nice. To put it bluntly the Kununurra hotel has a good selection on the menu to satisfy all taste buds. Some meals are huge and value for money and it's a shame that you can't eat it all.
Nice facilities - pool area comfortable and attractive. Apartments spacious and well set up. Liked the outdoor shower as part of the apartment's courtyard
