Breakfast can be better. Carton plate and plastic knife?..It does not taste healthy.
The Quality Inn hotel is located just two miles from Hearst Castle, a Moorish castle with 127 acres of gardens, terraces, pools and walkways, furnished with Spanish and Italian antiques and art.

This hotel was phenomenal, room was large, clean, had everything you could want.
Nice pool area with Jacuzzi and a firepit.
Cookies and coffee/tea/hot chocolate were always available in the lobby. The breakfast was included and had a great variety of hot and cold options, staff kept topping up the servery so the food was hot!!

San Simeon is a great spot for quiet relaxation.
San Simeon is a great spot for quiet relaxation. It's right by the ocean and has several restaurants. It's also just a few minutes drive to Cambria if you want to go for a nice walk on the Moonstone Beach walkway right by the ocean, and then another short drive to Cambria's cute little town.

The ocean was beautiful.
The ocean was beautiful. It was great seeing the elephant seals, and all their babies, lots and lots of babies everywhere. Every female seem to have a baby was happy to see the her castle from afar could not take my puppies, so I could not go on the tour. Next time I will go on the tour I will find a pet sitter.

San Simeon is just one of those cool places that are not over crowded by people and businesses. Different places to stop and explore along this part of the coastline. Besides having Hearst Castle, you can check out the elephant sea lions area and a lighthouse. Just south of San Simeon you have a quick drive over the Moonstone Beach and another 20 min south you have Morro Bay. I think it is a great place to stay when you don't want to be in one of the bigger beach towns, its a more down to earth place when you want to just be in one of the small cozy towns.

San Simeon state Beach is perfect for families.
San Simeon state Beach is perfect for families. It's not crowded like Pismo or windy like Avila. Perfect for families. Affordable restaurant options are limited for large families. None really unless you eat at the mini mart.

We are from Southern California, so other than being cooler than expected and overcast in the morning in August, the weather was great. The scenery is picturesque and there is tons to do. The hotel gave us a guidebook/map of the area and it listed so many fun activities, way more than you can do in a weekend vacation. Of course, Hearst Castle is the star. We did not get to see the lighthouse due to odd hours. We couldn't even park nearby to just take pictures. Cambria is only five miles away for shopping and dining and Harmony is just another five miles south for ice cream, photos, and gift shopping.
I always stay on Moonstone Beach Drive in Cambria right across the street from the beach and this time I reached into a new comfort zone wanted to try out San Simeon and was delightfully surprised by our stay the beds were amazingly comfortable we had a downstairs room with a view of the ocean the bathrooms were remodeled and awsome. I could walk down to the beach in five minutes. The girls staff members were super friendly I would definitely do a stay there again after 20 years of staying on moonstone delighted to find this new hidden gem.
It is a nice place in the middle of the Pacific road to stay. It is across the road from the ocean and the beach. Also, the pool is available and the water is quite warm. The rooms are big and comfortable, It is a fridge in the room, but not a microwave. The beds are good. It is very nice, that the motel has a restaurant and bar. Also, happy hours with discounts are provided. The food is good, but the prices are quite high. Free parking next to the door is provided. The breakfast is good, better to book with the hotel.
Pacific Coast is one of the few hotels that continues to provide a hot breakfast of eggs and bacon as well as yogurt, cereal, and pastries. The room has a microwave and refrigerator. I usually bring my own food so I appreciate that convenience. The bed is comfortable. The room has hardwood floors and is nicely decorated. Because this hotel is usually the lowest price when I am searching for places to stay thanks to booking.com VIP status, I have booked this hotel at least 5 times in 1.5 years.
Wow! Hidden gem of a hotel overlooking the Pacific Coast right off Highway 1. I don't think the pictures did the place justice. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We booked two rooms and they had interconnecting doors. A fireplace, which actually came in handy for the night we were there, in August! Go for the room with a patio, it's worth it! The room service food from the restaurant was really nice!
We needed a late check in and the procedure was very smooth. The staff was very friendly and warned us about road closures and the detour we had to take. We liked the location near Hearst Castle. We didn’t really hope for a breakfast so anything was better than nothing. I’m a Triumph bike fan so I loved the logos and the bike in the lobby.
Extremely dog friendly, huge property, amazing location, every staff member was friendly, courteous and helpful. Room service was great-and fast. Minibar was appreciated. Grateful for the binoculars in the room, as there was plenty of whale watching from our Oceanfront room! Enjoyed the fireplace in our room.
Despite my son's deadly accident the hotel dis not even reply when I asked kindly to vancel the hotel. When I asked Booking.com for help, the hotel did not answer them either. These people are heartless. Don't visit this place!
Grounds were well maintained. Pet friendly. Pacific views were breathtaking. Enjoyed the walking trail on the site. Best part was that everything was in one place and very convenient to get to from our pet friendly lodge room.
As motels go, this was quite nice. Rooms were spacious and clean, and hotel is well back from the road, so not much traffic noise. In fact all the rooms face the sea. Wifi was also password protected.
The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is very close to Hearst Castle and along the beautiful California coastline. We were very happy with the price and our stay.
Room was spacious and the view was very nice. We had a pet friendly room and the area around the hotel is nice to go for walks on the bluffs. Breakfast is included with the room as well.
This is my favorite hotel in San Simeon. Its my second stay, and everything has been wonderful. The staff at this hotel is top notch and have been there to fix any issues.
Very friendly staff. Pet friendly - courtyard grassy area for relaxing and exercising dog. Microwave and coffee maker in room came in handy.
