Milaidhoo Maldives

Baa Atoll

Milaidhoo Maldives is a boutique luxury resort in the UNESCO biosphere reserve, close to Hanifaru Bay. Its own coral reef is a protected area and noted as an outstanding snorkelling and diving site. The beautiful island, abundant with tropical greenery, is fringed by white soft deep sandy beaches and circled by a coral reef. We just spent five days at the Milaidhoo Resort and had a wonderful time. We had been in Milaidhoo already in 2018 and it was just as perfect as the first time. To us it felt like an unparalleled escape into luxury and tranquility. From the breathtaking ocean views to the impeccable service, every detail is meticulously crafted to create an unforgettable experience. We stayed in a water villa, which was spacious and had a wonderful and sophisticated decoration. We loved the water villa, as we come to the Maledives because of the water. The villa had beautiful sunset views! We found the restaurants are world-class (and we do not know of any hotel in the world that would have such a fantastic breakfast buffet!). A big thank you to Nazeer, Alfie and the entire restaurant team. We deeply enjoyed relaxing on the pristine beaches and swimming in the turquoise waters between the sandbanks. We did many snorkeling trips a few scuba diving trips and saw sharks, turtles, rays and a lot of other wonderful marine life. Zaeem, our diving guide, was an excellent instructor and made our dives truly memorable. Milhaidoo Resort surpassed all our expectations! It’s truly a slice of paradise. The Manager and his team are so gentle and kind, helpful and friendly. You feel truthfully welcome here in this paradise! We will definitely come back and can highly recommend this resort. It could not be any better. A special thanks to Akoo, who was always there to fulfill any of our strange wishes (such as finding sugarfree chewing gum somewhere in the Maldives and getting it to Milhaidoo…). Thank you so much to all of the „Milhaidoos“ for making our holiday unforgettable!

Dusit Thani Maldives

Baa Atoll

The luxurious Dusit Thani Maldives offers 94 Villas and Residences, located in Baa Atoll, the Maldives’ first and only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It features one of Maldives’ largest infinity pools, surrounded by beautiful coral reefs and a turquoise lagoon. With a private beachfront, tree-top spa and free WiFi in rooms, it offers a 360 degree house reef surrounding the island. Staff is able to converse in English, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Thai and Mandarin Chinese. It has been a week since we've come back from paradise on Earth. The beauty of the Maldives cannot be described, but the amazing experience of staying at Dusit Thani Maldives, which was simply perfect, can. To be perfectly honest, almost everything exceeded my (very high) expectation. The resort is a beautiful jungle/garden and cycling through it is a pleasure for all the senses (especially in the evenings, when you can smell frangipani). We have stayed in one of the ocean villas. The views were simply stunning. The villa was very spacious and cosy, and even though the furniture is not brand new, it is full of drama. Plus, they have the most comfortable pillows my head had ever touched. The big highight-and what convinced us to stay in the resort-is the Thai restaurant Benjarong with it amazing chef and staff-we were usually attended by Novika (foodie as myself, so she could provide great recommendation) and James, who was also super nice and attentive. After having dinner at Benjarong the first night, we booked all of our meals there (with the exception for the night of Eid celebration, when we dined on the beach with live local music and dancing-thanks Sharif. I especial recommend the soft shell crab with curry - powder, the lamb chops, and my favourite dish in the universe-the Thai green curry. My husband fell in love with the dessert with water chestnuts and ended up eating it twice a day 🙂 (and of course I ended up taking the Thai cooking class). Another highlight for the foodies was breakfast. while the choices of "western" food, pastries is impressive, my very favourite (and I had it every single day) was the noodles station. Also, make sure you try the passion fruit jam which is to die for. You can always ask Mona (yet another, cheerful foodie) for recommendations. Moving from the food... Above the Thai 'restaurant is the Sata bar. My husband took the cocktail making class there and we met a very gifted bar attender Amita.
