The property was not far from the railway station. We got there in 10 minutes. The room was clean and tidy. The whole property was beautiful. We also enjoyed the pool. The staff greeted and treated us very well from the moment we arrived. If we needed something, they were there to offer suggestions. The staff were very kind.

The husband and wife were very helpful from beginning to end and always with a smile on their face. They are so passionate in their cooking (which was very yummy) and also in telling us information about the old city. We had the option of renting bicycles for the day ($5 each) or renting a tuk tuk ($15 for 4 hours) and decided to take the bikes. We had such a beautiful day cycling and got to see way more than we had expected coming in to Anuradhapura. They also helped us organise the safari to Wilpattu i.e. tuk tuk to and from, entry ticket and jeep, which was by no means cheap but worth every single penny and has been the highlight of our trip so far.

Well set in the centre of Anuradhapura, Lake Edge Resort provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, free private parking and room service. 5.3 km from Kumbichchan Kulama Tank and 5.8 km from Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, the property offers a garden and a terrace. The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk, a concierge service and currency exchange for guests. We planned to stay 2 nights but we ended up extending it to 5 nights. The family is extremely friendly and hospitable, going far and beyond to make our stay convenient and unforgettable: local tips, washing clothes, cooking any meals, short transports, and scooter rent can be arranged without hassle. They even significantly discounted the final bill and gifted us with some local souvenirs! The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh ingredients cooked with love, and the recipes were changing according to our liking. Every morning when we left to explore and late at night when we came back they came out to greet us and see if all is fine. The resort is with amazing views. The lake, sunrise and sunset are gorgeous with a view to 3 biggest stupas with lights on the whole new night. It’s 7-10 minutes drive with a scooter to the nearest stupas and ancient hidden sights. We had many mornings e.g. at Wessagiriya cave complex meditating and resting on smooth rock formations under giant rocks shadows, and watching peacocks’ dancing. All rooms are with A/C and very comfortable beds. There is no water heating (or cooling) so if you don’t demand hot showers but instead prefer refreshing cool showers during the hot days, it will be perfect. Next time we will come back with a bigger family. Thank you so much for everything! 🙏

The hosts were very kind and helpful. They were always there to answer my questions and helped me plan my visits to various tourist sites during my limited time in the city. Very delightful various Breakfast! They cooked us good wholesome food according to what I liked, and at a very reasonable cost. I was well looked after. Great value. Definitely I will recommend for my friends their vacation.

The staff did an amazing job of understanding all our needs and then helping us accordingly. The rooms and the property were really nice. The pool was probably the most scenic I ever saw. The food was great too and served in a very unique setting. Definitely worth the money!
