The staff are what makes Coconut Beach a standout amongst so many resorts in the island chain. We were immediately on a first name basis with them, from bartender to boat captain, guide to cleaning staff, yoga instructor to chef, they were engaging, entertaining and as eager to share a bit about their lives as they were to learn a bit about ours. Truly a magical six nights! And to be able to watch a Fijian sunrise from one side of the resort and a Fijian sunset from the other…luxury!
The staff was super friendly. The owner, Dean, went out of his way to help us out. The bartender, Lucy, was very attentive. We took a trip over to the Sawa-i-Lau Cave). It was beautiful. We enjoyed being able to take the kayaks out further than just in front of the resort as some resorts wouldn't let you go very far, and we felt it was pointless to kayak at the other resorts. The food was good. There's a nice hike you can take with a beautiful view.
Family resort which is so special that there are no words to describe it.
The property is well maintained with a dive shop, restaurant, two bars, spa, and a kids club. We used all of the amenities, kids loved the activities they did at kids club like weaving and making shell bracelets. We went scuba diving and snorkeling ( both off the beach and on the resort boat) and we got massages. The staff is super friendly and so welcoming. We loved visiting the village nearby and brining the kids some gently worn clothes and school supplies.
Fab resort lots to do
Fabulous beachfront room, romantic setting, amazing views, fabulous food, gorgeous water and fun activities whether your into relaxation or adventure, they have it all. We especially loved snorkeling with the Mantarays. The resort staff were very helpful and organized our heli transfers with ease and a special birthday surprise for my husband. We will be back. :)
The beach/lagoon is breathtaking. Resort is well looked after. I stayed in a lodge with shared bathroom - bathroom was kept very clean. Lodge was lovely. Staff friendly. Bar restaurant and pool area were nice and spacious with plenty of loungers and shaded areas.
As common knowledge breakfast is usually included in hotel/ resort stays. But we had to pay for it. If there was an option, people would go out to eat but it's on an island. The management should think about it.
This was the best part of our Fiji trip. We loved how the resort was like living in a Fijian family, where everyone knew our names and really cared for us. The food was also great! We really miss Waya Lailai already and will definitely be back in the future!
We loved our stay at Barefoot Kuata! The beachfront bure was amazing, with an incredible outdoor bathroom. We had a slight problem with no hot water and this was fixed within 5 minutes of letting the staff now. The food is in buffet style and delicious, with lots of choices. We did the introductory shark dive and highly recommend this for anyone visiting the resort, such a unique experience. The hike to the summit of the island is also worth it and offers amazing views. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming.
