Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. Spacious and comfortable rooms with nature view, very good breakfast with home-made food. There is a hot tub available with beautiful view to the lake - included in the room price, along the bathrobe. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Definitely best hotel I have stayed in Iceland, highly recommended!!!

Set in a renovated farmhouse, this guest house is located by Lake Lagarfljót in Eglisstadir village. I recently stayed at Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir during a trip to Iceland and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located in a stunning location overlooking Lake Lagarfljót, and we were lucky enough to spot the Northern Lights during our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing us with tips on the best spots to view the Northern Lights and ensuring that we were comfortable throughout our stay. The room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities. The breakfast buffet was also delicious, with a great variety of options to choose from. One of the highlights of our stay was the hot tub facility, which was situated outside with stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It was the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring the area. Overall, I would highly recommend Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir to anyone visiting the area. The location, staff, amenities, and Northern Lights spotting opportunities are all excellent, and the hot tub is a fantastic added bonus. I would definitely stay here again.

Boasting panoramic views towards the famous Vatnajökull glacier and the surrounding mountains, Árnanes Country Hotel offers free Wi-Fi. The harbour town of Höfn is only 6 km away. The room was today and clean. Location was just outside of the main town to easy to travel in for food etc. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice and lots of homemade / local items. The staff were very friendly and informative as we were stuck in a storm due to road closures.

Situated next to Iceland’s Ring Road, this family-run farm hotel offers brightly decorated rooms with a TV and a private bathroom. The Hoffell Hot Springs are 25 km away. Great place, ideally located near the glacier lake. Rooms are simple but with a lot of space and well maintained. A good stop for campers looking for a rest night in a cozy hotel. Restaurant was great!

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. Great place to have a stop for the night when entering the fjords. Good food friendly staff. And the hottub with the sauna makes it better.

Hotel Skaftafell stoji na izvrstni lokaciji, kjer lahko občudujete osupljiv pogled na najvišjo goro Islandije, Hvannadalshnjukur, in največji evropski ledenik, Vatnajökull. You can go from the hotel to gletcher svinajokull - the closest I have ever been. Amazing area

Just 5 minutes’ drive from Höfn in south-east Iceland, this hotel is found along Route 1, close to the country’s largest glacier Vatnajökull. Breakfast was great and the dining area was even better than photos show. We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel on our long road trip. Staff was helpful and kind as well.
