Located 20 km from Clonalis House, 32 km from Roscommon Museum and 35 km from Claypipe Visitors Centre, Augherea House offers accommodation set in Longford. Grand old historical home, Serene location surrounded by fields of sheep, beautifully converted stables, modern bright and designed to the highest standard The room was spacious, very comfortable bed with a small balcony overlooking the property. The breakfast menu was extensive, I chose the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with Irish brown bread and Irish tea. Could not have been tastier. Matt was a great host, he gave a history of the property and updates and brought afternoon tea and biscuits to the room, nice touch.

Absolutely hands down the best place to stay in Longford, virtually no negative comments. Right in the heart of the town opposite St Mel's cathedral, apartments are very very well equipped with washing machine, fryer, cooking equipment we had far more than we needed. The owners were probably the nicest people I've dealt with in the hospitality industry and went over and above to help us make the best out of our stays. These apartments are most certainly the best if traveling with groups, value for money is considerably better compared to other accommodation in the Town. We've since booked didn't stays and will very likely book again on our next trips home. An easy 10 out of 10.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Glebe House is a country house situated in a historic building in Taghshinny, 27 km from Athlone Institute of Technology. Everything was faultless and Linda our host so welcoming, helpful and friendly. She goes over abd above to please her guests. Highly recomnend and wouldn't hesitate to return when we're back in the area.
