The Killeshin Hotel is one mile from Portlaoise and junction 16 off the M7 motorway. It offers a bistro, an indoor pool, hot tub, a gym and free parking. It was a great stay. Excellent staff, with an excellent meal.

The Midlands Park Hotel is a luxurious 4-star property located in the centre of Portlaoise and a 5-minute walk from the train and bus station. It was very modern, although maintaining old fashion personal accommodations. Well located and reasonably priced.

The 3-star Abbeyleix Manor Hotel offers a relaxing and ideal base to explore the hidden beauties of County Laois and the Midlands of Ireland. Breakfast really nice Bed really really comfortable Evening meal really good value

The Heritage offers 4-star accommodation in Killenard. Set within private gardens, guests may enjoy the on-site features including a leisure centre, award-winning spa, and on-site bars and... staff were absolutely amazing from beginning to end! absolutely amazing stay. food and drinks were spectacular

The Maldron Hotel is just off junction 17 of the M7 motorway, only 5 minute’s drive from Portlaoise town centre and O'Moore Park. It boasts a 20-metre pool, free Wi-Fi, free parking and a gym. Room size was great value for the rate

This is by far the best b&b (hotels included), I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. The pictures don't do it justice. The description does not do it justice. My review won't do it justice either ;-) Upon entering James' home, you are teleported back in time. The decor, furniture, down to every little thoughtful detail makes you believe you find yourself in the 18th century. It is impossible to imagine the work and love James put into the restoration of his home. Sitting in the drawing room by the fire in the evenings, either with a book or in conversation with James and other guests, surrounded by so much history, will make you feel truly humbled. And probably the most relaxed you have ever been ;-) Go for it. You will only regret not having seen this absolutely stunning place!
