Located in Mérida’s historic centre, Hotel Paula Films Collection is 400 metres from the Roman Forum and 250 metres from the train station. Breakfast (Desayuno) consisted of toast, fresh squeezed orange juice, and coffee. It was good, inexpensive (6 Euro per person), but minimal. Hotel was wonderfully decorated with movie scenes on all the walls. We purposely took the stairs to enjoy all the Disney characters.

Staff were very warm and accommodating. The pools were fantastic. Buffet breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant were outstanding. We couldn't believe how beautiful the hotel was. The photos don't do it justice!

Housed in a former convent, built in the 15th century, the Parador de Plasencia hotel has kept its stunning, original architecture, including spacious hallways, archways and courtyards. A beautiful old monastery right in the centre of Plasencia with very friendly and efficient staff. I spent just one night here with two friends in a pleasant, quiet triple room. Great towels, comfortable bed, nice furnishings and well functioning air conditioning for when it was 38 degrees outside! Breakfasting and eating in a parador can be expensive but luckily we found the restaurant/bar Bari nearby. It was so hot we only made it as far as the Bari, which is the first place you come to when you go out the front door, and fortunately the food was great. We had breakfast and dinner there. I would love to go back and stay at the Parador in Plasencia when the temperatures are more civilized.

It is a to-order type of buffet. They kept giving me food. 2) The room was really nice, the bed was fantastic. It is just a bit weird that the shower is part of the room and not with the toilet. It is ok since I am alone but very weird if I am with another person. 3) The hotel is very pretty, it is a posh old house in the city center.
