Located in Mérida’s historic centre, Hotel Paula Films Collection is 400 metres from the Roman Forum and 250 metres from the train station. Breakfast (Desayuno) consisted of toast, fresh squeezed orange juice, and coffee. It was good, inexpensive (6 Euro per person), but minimal. Hotel was wonderfully decorated with movie scenes on all the walls. We purposely took the stairs to enjoy all the Disney characters.

Hospes Palacio de Arenales dates back to the 17th century and was formally the holiday residence of a noble family. This 5-star hotel offers a wellness centre and spa. Staff were very warm and accommodating. The pools were fantastic. Buffet breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant were outstanding. We couldn't believe how beautiful the hotel was. The photos don't do it justice!

Located in a quiet and pretty residential area of Cáceres, this elegant hotel offers free Wi-Fi and chic rooms. The outdoor pool is set within gardens. I LOVED the welcome, the receptionist was MOST welcoming, spoke excellent English and helped us find our way.

NH Gran Hotel Casino de Extremadura is next to the Guadiana River, 10 minutes’ walk from Badajoz city centre and Alcazaba Fortress. It offers free WiFi and houses the Gran Casino de Extremadura. NH Hotel was an Awesome stay totally nailed it on all categories. Especially front desk with their professionalism, friendliness, respectful. Couldn't have ask for more. Put us in a very relaxing, comfortable and extremely unstressful.

Housed in a former convent, built in the 15th century, the Parador de Plasencia hotel has kept its stunning, original architecture, including spacious hallways, archways and courtyards. A beautiful old monastery right in the centre of Plasencia with very friendly and efficient staff. I spent just one night here with two friends in a pleasant, quiet triple room. Great towels, comfortable bed, nice furnishings and well functioning air conditioning for when it was 38 degrees outside! Breakfasting and eating in a parador can be expensive but luckily we found the restaurant/bar Bari nearby. It was so hot we only made it as far as the Bari, which is the first place you come to when you go out the front door, and fortunately the food was great. We had breakfast and dinner there. I would love to go back and stay at the Parador in Plasencia when the temperatures are more civilized.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. Gave us a pillow for our dogs. Checking in and out was easy. Beds are comfortable and showers are nice. The rooms have big televisions. We had a nice dinner and a powerful breakfast in the restaurant. 100% recommended if you are passing through Badajoz area and need a place to stay.

It is ok since I am alone but very weird if I am with another person. 3) The hotel is very pretty, it is a posh old house in the city center.
