San Antonio is a very laid back area of Belize. Mostly inhabited by the Maya culture, it is truly an amazing jungle atmosphere. Located close to the fishing village of Punta Gorda in the Toledo District this town is truly one of Belize's last frontiers. If you like being off-grid and somewhat roughing it, I would highly recommend you visit this "Forgotten Land". The Maya are a wonderful, polite and well educated English speaking people. Visit the "Farm Inn" for a truly off-grid experience. Oh, and don't forget to ask Kevin where to find the first "Earth Ship" of it's kind in Belize made exclusively of recycled materials. It is located close to the Lubaantun Mayan Ruin where the Crystal Skull was excavated!
San Felipe/Toledo/Punta Gorda is worth self-guided exploration. Lots of little gems. The people are fantastic and the landscape is rough and beautiful. Ate at Gomiers and the Spice Farm.
