Plantsville
The Econo Lodge hotel is located near several local points of interest. Attractions like the Lake Compounce theme park, Briarwood College, the Aqua Turf Club multipurpose venue, the American Clock & Watch Museum and the New England Carousel Museum are all just minutes away from this Milldale Southington, CT hotel. When I arrived I was greeted and checked in right away. When I checked out a few hours later, needed sleep after driving 15 hours and a hot shower. Needed to be on the road by 10 and check out was at 11 so I didn’t feel rushed. Check out was easy and was greeted when I left. The shower was amazing.

We left the Econo Lodge shortly after check-in due to unacceptable conditions and were thrilled to see that La Quinta still had rooms available. Nice breakfast offerings. Charging station on the nightstand. Also the water pressure in the shower was great.
This old-school lodge had gorgeous landscaping and our room was very quiet, especially given it's proximity to the road. The bed was comfortable, though the sheets could have been softer. The room had a sitting area with two comfortable chairs. In the evenings we were invited to enjoy a glass of wine free of charge. The breakfast spread was lovely, with choices of local baked goods, cereal, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, coffee, and fresh fruit.
It reminded me of a ski lodge, kind of rustic and cool in that respect. It had a lot of great features, I like the bar and restaurants and the gym, and indoor pool.
The name is program, EconoLodge means cheap rooms, which are clean but very dated. For the price we payed surely adequate but it is definitely not a fancy hotel.
The facility was gorgeous- it felt like a ski lodge!
The location to our child's school is what makes the Farrington Inn a place to stay for us. Some rooms are tired and others have been touched up with a better room heater/air conditioner and bathroom. Some places in the hallway you can smell water leaks, but the staff (from cleaning to front desk) are always hard at work to make up for the mechanical/facilities shortfalls. If you need to be in Farmington and not West Hartford -for a short period of time - this motor lodge will do.
