Location was great, not too far of a drive for the day of arrival it placed us very close to our first activity on the following day. Poás Volcano and Bajos del Toro Blue Falls trail. The restaurant was great, we had a very tasty warm meal upon our arrival and breakfast was great. The whole facility was beautiful and well groomed. Staff were nice and extremely helpful. They helped us book online the tickets we needed while we used their computer.

Offering an indoor pool and a restaurant, Peace Lodge is located a 1-hour drive from San Jose in Vara Blanca. Free WiFi access is available in this lodge. The room was amazing with a ridiculously epic view and a jacuzzi in the balcony too! Our bathroom was just incredible with a bath, a shower and a separate waterfall shower. The view and location is breathtaking. It’s secluded enough to make you feel slightly off the grid and the scenery is beautiful. There are some amazing plants to see and plenty of humming birds flying around that make the experience magical. Whoever designed this hotel has put a lot of thought into detail and must have loved nature. There are waterfalls at the property which cannot be missed.

Bungalows Sanlaz er staðsett í Barrio Jesús á Heredia-svæðinu og Poas-þjóðgarðurinn er í innan við 39 km fjarlægð. It was quiet, had a pool. Comfortable lodgings. Wish we had booked a extra night.

Mountain Lodge CheTica er staðsett í San Jerónimo á Heredia-svæðinu og La Sabana Metropolitan-garðurinn er í innan við 19 km fjarlægð. it was a beautiful property with lovely rooms. very cute and very clean.

Gran Gavilán del Sarapiquí Lodge er staðsett í La Selva Biological Station, í 2,6 km fjarlægð og býður upp á gistirými, veitingastað, útisundlaug, garð og verönd. The grounds of the lodge are beautiful - there are many beautiful flowers and lots of different birds -- it is a birdwatcher's paradise. The cabins have nice decks with comfortable chairs as well as a large central viewing deck with hammocks and comfortable chairs. The staff was were welcoming and spoke excellent English. They went above and beyond any expectations when my friend became ill and had to go to the local clinic. The owner of the lodge drove us to the clinic and stayed with our friend the whole time, translating and ensuring he got his proper medications. We are so grateful.

Very cosy place, exceeded our expectations (after reading some sceptical reviews)! It is a very comfortable, tranquile, lots of nature around you, wonderful people, working at it. We also liked the tours and the restaurant (and very kindhearted ladies in it :) p.s. try to "use" the time before and after the tourists "from outside the gate" come (evening and morning, before 9-10 a.m.). It is not becoming too crowdy, but before this you have a feeling of being "nearly alone in a beautiful nature". After this you can enjoy a wonderful terrace, where we saw many nice birds and beautiful frogs.

Chilamate Rainforest Eco Retreat er staðsett í Puerto Viejo og er með garðútsýni, veitingastað, sameiginlegt eldhús, bar, garð og verönd. Smáhýsið er með bæði WiFi og einkabílastæði án endurgjalds. It was stunning. The rooms were more like apartments. The staff were wonderful. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.
