A lot of thought has gone in to this fabulous little lodge, and the attention to detail is extraordinary. we cannot rate it highly enough.

Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. Welcoming and friendly staff who cooked breakfast and dinner as we like it. The secluded location off the beaten track. As we were early in the season, we had the whole resort for ourselves (the staff left during the day and the night, which felt a bit strange during the first night as we wondered whether we were safe).

Guacamaya Lodge has a beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained pool area and grounds, large comfortable rooms with vaulted ceilings, roomy bathrooms with plenty of hot water, to name a few of its wonderful features. Guacamaya Lodge exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and professional, the cocktails in the pool side restaurant were generous and expertly mixed, and the homemade ice cream was decadent and delicious. Guacamaya Lodge is so perfect in itself, and yet, with its location a few hundred yards from a breathtaking, expansive beach, your greatest dilemma will be whether to lounge poolside sipping mojitos, or get some exercise and head to the playa. We cannot wait to return. Well done, Guacamaya Lodge!

Surrounded by the jungle and offering a wooden restaurant, palapa roof bungalows and a swimming pool, Mundo Milo Eco Lodge is located 350 metres from Juquillal Beach.

Mundo Milo Eco Lodge is 5 km from a golf course and 30 km from Las Baulas National Marine Park. Daniel Oduber International Airport is a 1-hour drive away. Lieke and Michael have a beautiful little lodge, with plenty of flora and fauna (we spent alot of time bird watching from our covered porch). The pool is even nicer than pictures and the temperature was perfect for cooling off. Food was excellent, and their included breakfasts were the best we had in CR (fruit and yogurt, great coffee, juice, tipico or pancake desayuno). We had our little girl there and she had a blast. With all the trees it felt very private, would go back in a heartbeat. The area is very quiet, which we loved, and tons of beaches.

Cabañas Cañas Castilla is located on the shores of Sapoa River and 10 minutes’ drive from La Cruz town. It features Orosi Volcano views and one day tours to Nicaragua.

The accommodations include a fan, safety deposit box, seating area and a dining area with a fridge. They also feature a furnished terrace with garden and river views. The bathrooms are private and have a shower and free toiletries. Best location in the area of La Cruz. Close to the beaches, yet secluded lush paradise. Our second time staying here. You are surrounded by native old trees that attracts wildlife- toucans, parrots, colibri, monkeys every days. It’s so peaceful. This place is a destination on its own. Cabins are very cozy, hot water always with good pressure. Crisp linens. Daily housekeeping. Great breakfast. But most importantly you will be warmly received by the owners. Wonderful people that make you feel at home. For sure will be back and recommending this place to everyone. Internet connection not great for those whose life depends on it.

Boasting a garden and a terrace, Tamarindo Pura Selva Eco Tree House offers accommodation in Guatemala with free WiFi and garden views. Featuring free private parking, the lodge is in an area where guests can engage in activities such as hiking and cycling. Unique and absolutely beautiful. Will keep this on our short list of great places in Costa Rica!

Featuring a year-round outdoor pool, Cabañas del Bosque in Nandayure provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive.

Barra Honda National Park is 36 km from the lodge. The nearest airport is Nosara Airport, 66 km from Cabañas del Bosque. Cute, well appointed, brand new cabins as of 2022. Remote, but well stocked with electric hot plate and pot, coffee and coffee maker, and mini fridge. And a nice little pool! Definitely don't recommend driving through Hojancha unless you're up for a fairly bumpy/off-road experience. Instead, go through Santa Rita - same amount of time from Nicoya, but way smoother!

The lodge offers a seating area with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a hair dryer and shower. An oven and microwave are also featured, as well as a coffee machine. The house was spacious and the shower was so nice with the large shower head and feeling of being outside. There were board games that we could enjoy. The pool area was nice.
