Great place, nice view of the volcano, fantastic garden, very good walking trails.

Breakfast is available every morning, and includes à la carte, continental and American options. At the lodge you will find a restaurant serving local and Grill BBQ cuisine. Vegetarian and dairy-free options can also be requested. The stuff was super friendly and prepared the best casado we had during our trip to costa rica (have to try the homemade chilie sauce). Also unexpectedly good was the included free frog spotting tour. Even though the chalets were rather tiny they felt spacious and were indeed very private. This is definitely no 5-Star Hotel but as best as eco-friendly individual tourism could get.

The nearest airport is Fortuna, 7 km from Cabañas Sueños del Arenal, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. The property was perfect for us as a couple. Close to La Fortuna and far enough away that you were out of the busyness. The kitchen was stocked well enough to make simple meals. King bed was comfortable. The view of Arenal Volcano was amazing when it wasn’t too cloudy. The patio was sheltered from the rain so you could still enjoy coffee outside in the morning. Property felt secure with remote control opening and closing.

Views for miles - out to the cloud forest beyond! The property has nice, rugged trails that let me feel like I was in the wild, yet safe to walk alone exploring the flora and fauna of the rainforest. Jay’s guided night hike wowed us and inspired my 12 year old daughter, Ophelia, to emulate his trained techniques. She continued to observe and listen carefully for the distinct sounds of various creatures for the remaining weeks of our Costa Rica trip…. and sure enough, spotted a bunch! The Toucan lodge was adorable and comfortable. I loved sleeping in the dense darkness listening to the nocturnal activities of the rainforest! The meals and juices were delicious - like “Is there any more more of THAT?” delicious! The hammocks, the mirador, the trails, song birds, the colors- oh, the colors!- the love and joy that abounds at Cecropia is very special. Jay and Nohe are beautiful souls. I am so happy I stayed at Cecropia Lodge and was able to support their environmental project.

The nearest airport is Fortuna, 21 km from Las Pavitas Cottages, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. first there is the view. Once the sky clears up you have a fantastic view on the volcano. we only stayed for one night but we wouldn’t want to leave in the morning trying to stay as long as possible. couldn’t get away from all the hummingbird action. the communication with our host was all via app but super responsive and stressfree. I personally like it when I have someone to talk to in person but I totally understand if this is not always possible. And as I said: I always got an immediate response. I would totally recommend this cabin which was well equipped and spotless clean. And by the way: the view is the same (or maybe even better because higher up) as at the resort furrher down the road where you‘ll pay ten times as much and have to share it with other guests 😀

My 7-yr old daughter and I loved our stay at La Finca Lodge. Everything was perfect - the peaceful location, the staff, Carmen’s cooking, the gardens and the animals, and of course the pool. It is a little gem and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Arenal Oasis Eco Lodge & Wildlife Refuge has an on-site restaurant serving local dishes and regional cuisine. Everything. My plan behind staying at this property was to be in contact with nature and more specifically, to take the night tour and see snakes. We saw 6 snakes in total, plus a bunch of other animals (frogs, insects, spiders, etc…). Besides that, things that were great: staff was great, they gave us a better room than the one we got, wifi was actually great, breakfast was awesome, and the accommodation is not far from Downtown La Fortuna.

Guests at the lodge can enjoy cycling nearby, or make the most of the garden. Flora Glamping de Abuela was an amazing experience! It's a local family owned business. We stayed there for 4 nights, and even before we got there we contacted the host: Evi, who helped us a lot with planning our stay at La Fortuna and book some attractions. The place has an amazing location! Just outside the city but 5 minutes drive so you can enjoy the quiet and the perfect view of the Arenal volcano and still feel close to the city. Evi was available for us at all times with every question or help we needed. The room was spacious and clean but take into account that the toilet and shower are in the same space as the rest of the room. However with only 2 glamping tents you can really feel the privacy. The shared kitchen was well equipped with all the things we needed, and was designed optimistically.
