Not only was it quiet which is something a lot of motor lodges fail to be. But it also had the best coffee I’ve managed to find since we started travelling from Auckland. The spar bath was just brilliant. Had a few such spar baths over the previous 3 weeks and this was hands down the best. Parking was good. Distance to centre and shops was a short walk. Staff were great. Very much worth staying here. Just make sure you get the spar bath room :)

It also was isolated from the town bustle which was a big plus. The free breakfast was excellent too. Next door was an excellent restaurant to chill out at the end of your day.

The room was sizable and on the first floor which meant some heavy lifting of luggage. There were a few cars in the car park already so we decided to leave the car on the road outside. We had a meal in the town so other than tea and breakfast didn’t make extensive use of the facilities which were more than adequate for a one night stay.GeraintYoung couple

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I needed to do a load of washing after returning from a 5 day kayak in the Abel Tasman National park but also had to meet friends for dinner so the staff put my washing in the dryer and then put the dried clothes into my room. Very comfortable beds and excellent shower. We had a lovely private out door patio with table, sun umbrella and lounger.
