We stayed at the Selva Bananito Lodge for two nights over the 2023/24 New Year period. If nature and the outdoors is your thing, coupled with a destination that is being as ecologically sound and sensitive to its surroundings as possible, then I can’t recommend a stay here highly enough. Various excursions and activities are on offer, we can highly recommend the forest walk and horse riding, Niels was an excellent guide too. I also opted for a half hour Gyro flight with Jurgen on our final morning. We flew out over the forest to the coast and back to the private airstrip with Jurgen pointing out the extent of their forest and many points of interest along the way, he really is passionate about this land and a good ambassador for what can be achieved. It really puts things into perspective when seen from the air as well. We could easily have spent longer at the Selva Bananito Lodge as there’s plenty of activities we didn’t get time to do. Even spend some more time bird watching from our cabin veranda. Finally I’d like to thank Iris for her help, who tirelessly assisted with everything around the lodge and also helped us plan our itinerary in Costa Rica generally. We did horseback riding, flying over the rainforest and Caribbean coast, Canopy tour and bird watching. we had a very good time and learned a lot! we recommend to book full-board in advance. it is worth it since the food is very good!

Very comfortable rooms (with partially open windows-you will be in the midth of the nature and wake up by the sound of the birds and animals in the morning), good food (with limited choice) and even warm water !

It is a great place to stay for a couple of days of more and experience the jungle and sustainable farming. Very comfortable cabins and delicous meals are provided and there are plenty of things to do and see. The whole team is very friendly and helpful. We will put this lodge on our schedule for a longer stay for our next visit to CR.StephenYoung couple

He introduced his family for a chat and they joined us for meals. When he heard that it was my birthday (75) he insisted on taking me on a flight in his auto gyro over the jungle and supplying a cake for the occasion. The bed and room were very comfortable and clean.
