Just love this fort.
Just love this fort. As with any popular site in India ... go early and be first in the gate to beat the crowds and the heat. There is an elevator .Take a tuk tuk to the fort ... it is far more practical. I chose to walk most of the way back down the hill on this and previous occasions ... and interesting experience

Make sure you get there 9am sharp.
Make sure you get there 9am sharp. If you are staying in the old City you can walk to it (30 min) uphill. Take the lift to the outdoor courtyard. And take an audio guide available in 5 international languages plus English. It’s bette than a guide. Don’t shop at the fort everything is 10 times market rate. But it you do decide to shop make sure you have cash as most places only accept cash. Also, there are no atm’s near the fort.

Great, epic fort, but not so great management & overall...
Great, epic fort, but not so great management & overall organisation. Especially regarding the entry for locals & foreigners.
There is no definitive direction for foreigners to go purchase a ticket which should be exclusively at ENTRY, i.e. straight after the security checkpoint. It is more of less expected you will 'wander' to the ticket booth.
The audio book deposit is RIDICULOUS. They ask you totourist surrender a Government document prior to receiving your audio guide. Skip this where possible. Unnecessary.
No Indians/locals are checked for tickets, however, if you're foreigner, you WILL be stopped at some point by tourist security which locals wander freely. The double standard couldn't be any more obvious & when you contest this to them, the lying begins.

Nestled amidst the vibrant streets of Jodhpur. The Haveli Hotel exudes an old-world charm with its intricate architecture and elegant interiors. Each corner tells a story, adorned with antique furniture and delicate artwork, reflecting the region's rich history and craftsmanship. Dining at the Haveli Hotel was a culinary journey through Rajasthan's rich flavors. The rooftop restaurant offered panoramic views of the Mehrangarh fort.
If you don't want to be fooled by tuk-tuk drivers who will drop you off far from the hotel saying that they cannot drive further - simply request a ride to the Mehrangarh fort's main entrance (which is 400 m further). Then ask to stop near Jimmy's restaurant once you are passing it by. This restaurant is actually in the same building where the hotel is, so you can enter from the street to take the stairs down from the Fort Road.
This was one of our favourite places that we stayed during our 2 months in India! Lovely vibe, beautiful decor, kind and helpful staff, and fantastic rooftop views of Jodhpur and Mehrangarh Fort from the cafe/chill out area. Our room was lovely, very clean and quiet at night - we slept so well here. Thank you for having us – we hope to return one day.
Besides being centrally located and offering a wonderful view of the Mehrangarh fort, this place has the comfort of a home, warmth of a family and facilities comparable to any good hotel, which definitely exceeded our expectations. AJ and his family's hospitality is an experience to remember.
The hotel is run by a family. The sons were super helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our wellbeing and comfort and took care of our extra requests and needs. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are lovingly furnished and very nicely painted. For Christmas Eve, the roof terrace, from which you can see the gigantic Mehrangarh Fort, was decorated for us and there was a small gift for each guest. There was also a vegetarian and very tasty Christmas menu. I can highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for this lovely stay!
1. The hotel was placed inside the walled old city, hence you get a feel of the old buildings and traditions.
2. The hotel is only 750m from Mehrangarh fort and 2 km from Jodhpur railway station.
3. The host is a very amiable person and ensured that our stay was comfortable.
4. Decent view of the fort from the hotel roof.
Beautiful, hygienic cozy hotel for a budget friendly price. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and made us feel at home. Great location in the city centre, with many beautiful sights at walking distance and an amazing roof top terrace with view at the Mehrangarh fort. Would definitely recommend this place.
On our budget and travelling around India I would never expect to be able to give such a positive review. This old fashioned haveli however had everything from the size and comfort of the room ( 5star hotel would call it a suite) quality of food in the roof top restaurant, location in the centre of Jodphur but just below the main attraction Mehrangarh Fort . All the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.
The room is beautifully decorated and has a wonderful view of the Mehrangarh fort. The fort is at a walking distance from the hotel and you get amazing views of the old blue city. Ram and the staff are super nice and polite. The food on the roof top is really really good and fresh, we loved the 3 meals we had there and they were vegan friendly when asked to accommodate.
