Beautiful hike through a special terrain, though I find it a bit galling to spend 5 euros each to walk through nature. Crowds up to the first bit was annoying, as well as the utterly pointless horse carriages, which really don't belong in this century. After the gorge (which was very impressive) you should carry on walking. There are wonderful 10 km round hikes along and above the river in several directions, and basically nobody does them! p.s. Lose the hideous plastic barriers at the gorge guys, it's supposed to be nature, not an inner city building site...ChrisCzech Republic - 10Scored 10
It's a tad wet.
It's a tad wet. There are a few spots that are dark - I just used my cell phone flashlight to make sure my kids weren't spooked. But it was amazing and not to be missed. Do not think you can park closer to the trail head - it's not happening. Just suck it up, and start walking. Totally worth it. There is a WONDERFUL little restaurant another 20 minutes up the mountain with delicious food, wonderful (English proficient) employees where you can rest, refuel, and then find your way to a little gondola to go down the mountain quickly and cheaply.

Be prepared to walk 2-3 Km on stone in wet conditions. Small umbrella and flashlight not necessary, but a good idea. Anyone over 180 Cm in height, be prepared to stoop occasionally. Worth the trip to see if you enjoy natural settings.

The location was perfect - you could start your hike to the Partnachklamm and surrounding areas from there and the Sommerrodelbahn was right next to it as well. City Center was only a short drive away (could have even walked there). We booked a room with a shared bathroom, but ended up getting our own bathroom (just not in the room).
