Very clean and spacious, attractive room, huge comfortable bed with good quality bed linen, big TV, spacious bathroom, large shower cubicle and great towels, first meal in the restaurant was delicious (beef bourguignon), good local ale at a reasonable price, breakfast was mixed but full English was very good. Dark haired lady on duty on our first night was lovely, friendly and very professional (apologies for not having a name). Contact via the app was good and the code access worked well. We enjoyed our stay.

Located in Bowland Bridge, 10 km from World of Beatrix Potter, The Hare & Hounds Inn provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The breakfast was fabulous, the rooms were incredible comfortable and the nature around the hotel is wonderful. We have a small dog, and had a great walk in the morning before breakfast. Also the dinner was perfect after a long day of walking and exploring. You could warm yourself next to the woodfire, with a refreshing cider and a happy and tired dog at your feet. Highly recommended.

The inn features family rooms. everything was so clean, stylish and comfortable. Breakfast already in the room with milk, orange juice and yoghurt in fridge. coffee machine in lovely lounge next to bedroom.

The Crown and Cushion Appleby is situated in the market square in the centre of Appleby and features a restaurant, tea-room and bar. Excellent stay, very kind staff.

Built around 1590 as a miner's cottage known as 'Dove Cottage', The Langstrath Country Inn is a small family-run property offering accommodation in Stonethwaite. Parking is available. Amazing location, very friendly staff and super food. With many just having a drink after walking the fells, we felt quite privileged to be staying here

Located in Barrow-in-Furness, Ormsgill Inn features free WiFi access and free private parking. Guests can enjoy a drink at the on-site bar, as well as the pool table and darts board. Nice warm, friendly welcome - shown to room, rather than being left to find own way. Bonus to find out breakfast was included. Lovely & clean. Customers also very friendly. Excellent value.

Situated in Lupton, 26 km from Trough of Bowland, Plough Inn features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. I booked the Torsin suite for the night for my wife’s birthday, the pictures don’t do the suite credit, it was incredible; so much so that we cancelled our original anniversary plans for the end of August and booked the same suite again for our anniversary. The location is great, we were able to check in early with a bottle of champagne ready as requested and the service was good and friendly. The pub and restaurant downstairs was welcoming, especially the log fire with comfy sofas around it and (although we didn’t take ours) it is dog friendly, so a real plus if we come again for a family break. There was a good breakfast included and an altogether excellent stay.

Situated in Levens, 18 km from World of Beatrix Potter, The Hare and Hounds, Levens features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. The guidebook in the room was very helpful and provided information about things to do in the Lake District area, by foot or car. I took a 45 minute walk around the nearby farm and enjoyed quiet, scenic views. The unit we stayed in consisted of a large living room, full kitchen, bedroom, and bath with shower and tub. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, both meals were scrumptious. There was a great vibe at dinner and it was clear that this is not just a spot for guests, but also popular with the locals. Parking was available just across the street. We would definitely stay here again.
