This unspoilt 16th-century coaching inn overlooks the rolling countryside and offers a warm welcome and good food in a relaxed, traditional setting between Oxford and Cheltenham.

The Head Chef, Christophe Arcalis, creates menus that feature seasonal local produce. The Inn also specialises in fresh fish, all delivered daily, direct from Devon and Cornwall.

The hotel was very clean, the staff were lovely and the food was very good. We had 3 rooms and they were all well equipped (including an iron and ironing board), clean and the beds were comfortable. I also like that there were locals in the bar, which to me is a good sign especially as the hotel isn’t actually in Burford. Also it states that it’s dog friendly and it really is (there were 3 in the bar at one time, 2 of which were locals with their dog) so if you’re looking to take your dog he or she will be welcomed. We noticed on our last morning that there’s a public footpath leading from the hotel garden which presumably goes into Burford. We plan to explore that on our next visit.

Absolutely great stay at the New inn - locals bar cosy and staff so friendly. Breakfast with room booking had great selection and set you up for a lovely long walk in the Cotswolds. Restaurant food also fantastic - we tried their special chicken burger and fish and bar snacks, all 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. Room itself was spacious, with pod coffee and refilled daily and shower/bath pressure was great, couldn’t ask for a better stay. Thanks Team New inn, we’ll be seeing you again!

We really enjoyed our stay at the New Inn and we are due to have many of our wedding guests stay there in December so it was a good reccy. One thing I'd like to highlight was there there was an unfortunate drainage smell from our room, we did flag this with staff but I'd want to ensure this is passed on as it was rather unpleasant and meant we had to sleep with the window open. Thanks!

Very quaint Inn in the country. The accommodation is excellent and bed comfy. The radiators were on the whole time we were there and it was nice and cosy when weather was below freezing. Small bar serving drinks and snacks along with a restaurant. Lots of outdoor seating when weather permits.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the New Inn and especially appreciated the delicious breakfast. The rooms were spacious and clean. The blackout curtains were great for anyone that wanted to sleep a little later. We would definitely book a room here again if/when in the area. Being able to have dinner at the New Inn Pub is a bonus. We visited during the Christmas holidays, which was wonderful, but I imagine it is quite a nice place to sit outside on a summer's evening. We hope to be back soon!

We liked the rustic setting of the New Inn in a remoter part of the Cotswolds. The Inn is of interesting and characterful features fitting of the period in which it was built. It was also convenient to be able to drink and dine in one place. There was bottled water provided for refreshment as well as a good choice of tea and coffee, with a coffee machine provided. The staff were generally efficient and pleasant throughout our stay.
